Depends on the child of course.

There's always one child who strives to believe gravity isn't real or playing with matches is "fun".

In her case, she has introverted children who adore that she's around, but not hovering.

Available but not "in their faces". Can make their own snacks, but still ask for help with homework. Their grades went up.

One of the few blessings of adolescence.
