Things I've been playing on my Switch, and vague thoughts on them:

Breath of the Wild: it's a hell of a change from western open world RPGs. In good ways, and ways that frustate me a bit. I suspect the latter will pass though.

Tunic: annoyingly hard, but interesting.

Lego City Undercover: It was $10. I had to. Played it briefly on a friend's Wii U back in the day over drinks. Still funny, still fun.

@vampiress Tunic was one of the first games a beat on my Steam Deck. Perfect portable game, but definitely left me frustrated a few times.

@vampiress I wanted to like Tunic so much, but it felt like the combat was either "too much work for me to git gud at" or adjusted with settings to "too boring to want to engage with.

I really liked the bits I did explore, but eventually hit a conceptual wall and just stopped because I didn't want to look anything up but also didn't want to just keep wandering in circles.

I feel like it's my fault for not liking the game somehow, but also there are just so many other things that don't make me feel frustrated like it did despite its charm.

@troldann Yeah right now i'm finding the stubborn difficulty and rareness of the combat annoying.

My brother said he and his GF passed the controller when they died, and I think that'd improve the experience but... for me playing it alone, yeah... finicky. Annoying. A lot to like about despite that though I think.

@vampiress Tunic is a multi-layered gem of a game.

@vampiress had endless fun with Lego City Undercover, playing coop with the kids. So much sandbox potential.
