@futurebird I cry at funerals, no matter whose (well, except for a list of people NOT including you, or ants). I also cry at weddings, bc I think it's insane to bring new life into this terribly fucked up world. I shed a tear for Daffodil. I hope Tulip has a longer life. (How long DO ants live?)
@futurebird Poor little things. OTOH, they live surrounded by the love of their mother and sisters every single day, which is wonderful in and of itself.
@futurebird Do you think they live longer lives bc you protect them? They're indoors, unlikely to encounter a hostile colony, well supplied with food & water ... you even provide cleaning services. Must be very restful to be an ant in your care.
@thepoliticalcat I'd hope so. They also have extra stress due to lights and strange things happening. But, I think most ants find their lives very strange no matter what.
@futurebird Well, there's that whole "surrounded by the love of one's family" thing, which seems very nice, especially since it's pheromone-based. So all ants are sisters to each other and daughters to their mother and it's (hopefully) a ball of love. That would be nice. We don't often get love, we humans.
