If you are into crime drama series, the Norwegian series "Wisting" should be on your radar.
It has a wonderful depiction of Norwegian culture, has a high degree of realism, and the acting is believable thanks to Carri-Anne Moss (The Matrix) and Sven Nordin.
Typically Scandinavian with less action and more drama along the lines of "Broen". A captivating thriller but thankfully by no means a horror series.
@randahl Love crime dramas; especially foreign ones - always so well made, with fascinating plot twists. We have found it and bookmarked it to watch. The french series Astrid - Murder is Paris is incredible, just finished the most recently available series of it.
My wife and I watch a lot of "Scandi Noir" We're currently watch "Van Veetering" in Swedish, with subtitles.
We actually understand about 10% without the subtitles, because many words are similar to Afrikaans.
For example, "vet" is pronounced the same as "weet", and means the same thing. Ditto "ensam" and "eensaam". And you can quickly guess what "penge" means (it's cognate with English "penny")
It took a while to get used to the postpositioned definite article!
