6 May 1940 | Betty Vredenburg, a Dutch Jewish girl, was born in Amsterdam to Abraham and Rachel.

She was murdered in a gas chamber of the Auschwitz camp on 21 May 1944.

Born 4 days before the Nazis invaded the Netherlands and 8 days before the official capitulation. It is almost unbearable to imagine the emotions this girl's parents must have gone through in those days.
My head wants to burst, my heart is screaming.
