Oh. This is a "don't vote for anyone not part of the duopoly, even if they both suck, because the duopoly does not want to actually respond to voters" marketing thing.

    Gotcha.

As opposed to what? voting for the party whose leader is committing warcrimes supporting genocide? Hmm, one who talks about committing crimes, one who does it. 'Alex, I will take "Vote my conscience for someone else" for $∞!'

You cannot convince voters to vote against the bad guy unless you have a viable alternative option. Heinrich Held, Alfred Hugenberg, Ludwig Kaas, Ernst Thälman, Otto Wels, Arthur Crispen, Hans Vogel… all unpopular, all insisted on running.

@amgine @PallasRiot Many years ago, my now partner ate in a Soviet restaurant. The menu looked fantastic, mostly. But everything they tried to order, the kitchen is out of that. Eventually, they asked: what do you have? And there were only two choices. And one was much worse than the other.
If you actually want to work for the change you claim you want, learn from the MAGA: Win preselection in one of the parties. Because on election day, there will be two choices.

That is a nice, simplistic, acontextual, and irrelevant story. Thank you for sharing it, but I find it to be defeatist. I prefer to look at .

The is a multiparty . The current dominant parties have not always existed. There have been periods of multiparty governance in the USA; it is the normal circumstance in other, similar, states.

Voting for any evil is morally and ethically wrong.

    Soo many assumptions.

Whig history ignores that the current & did not exist, but developed out of voter dissatisfaction.

In my lifetime the Democrats moved from being the creators & implementors of , to passing the Act of 1964, and Republicans likewise have suffered a sea change. Neither now represent the majority political opinions of citizens.

History is on my side, as shown previously. Opposing Hitler were 7 candidates, who represented the 'old guard' of Weimar Germany's political infrastructure. All pointed out how terrible Hitler would become, what a threat he was to the country.

None was a viable alternative, imo.

The Socialists made great gains, yet could not form gov't! But the other parties failed to negotiate a compromise government without them. They took the lesser of two evils.
