If you're in charge of the government, and in 4 years from you not only be bothered to incarcerate someone who tried to overthrow the government, but also be fine with that person running for office again, you should not be in charge of the government.
I used to think there was The Constitution, aka the law of the land. And Congress made laws and controlled the purse strings within those Constitutional limits. While the Courts were there to make sure things were staying Constitutional. Having trump even run shows as clear as day that The Constitution does not matter anymore. And honestly, love it or hate it, it makes the future a tad more frightening.
He can't say he's not fine with it, because otherwise Republicans and the propaganda machine would cry impropriety and political persecution. We'd never hear the end of how "Biden tried to get his political opponent removed," and how "Democrats are cheaters rigging the system."
It was wise of him not to give them any sound bites and to defer to the courts, because they're the ones who should be deciding this (for better or worse).
Does it? He’s a politician. Everything is about image. I doubt he’s giving his honest opinion instead he’s just projecting a positive image. Not saying anything is wrong with this but you can’t assume he’s being truthful.
That was the point the poster was making- that by not taking umbrage with Trump on the ballot, it give the appearance of confidence in him defeating Trump (whether or not he personally feels he can.)
If Biden isn’t worried, that is an internal thought not external. This doesn’t indicate how he feels. What he expresses in public is different than his internal thoughts and feelings. It’s what politicians do.
True, but that's all based on tired and debunked info. Him saying Trump should be removed would be fresh fuel for that idiotic fire. They shouldn't get any help wearing people down during an election year that's already going to be rife with disinformation.
But thats the point its not up to him, which if it was he would be fine with. His role as President is explicitly to enforce the law and prevent insurrection a non opinion on jan 6 is very bad for the health of the united states.
But thats the point its not up to him, which if it was he would be fine with.
I'm going to assume English isn't your first language. If it was, you would know that the wording of "I'll let" here doesn't mean "I'm giving permission", but instead "I'm not going to weigh in"
Thank you for saying this! Merrick Garland really fucked us over. He did his best to sweep a coup attempt under the rug. Thankfully, congress made him look like a punk bitch with their public hearings.
Biden was trying to offer some kind of olive branch by appointing a conservative to such a powerful position. I hope we never, ever offer another olive branch like that again. What a huge blunder that was.
Oh. Let's not ask the president about something out of his sphere. And not care for the answer either. Some of y'all act like moody teenagers over some silly crap.
