For example in the screenshot (twitch clip), if you want to share on reddit you click the reddit button, but what button are devs supposed to put to share in the fediverse? Do they pick an instance of their choice?! Is this a weakness of a federated platform or what?
Meta exist to make a profit, however they're never going to be able to advertise to most people in the fediverse, who also happen to be some of the most knowledgeable people in some fields. If they accept that they're never going to be able to advertise to those people, they go for the next best thing: monetising their content....
Was using Lemmy.ca as my home instance for a while, now it's gone. Just wondering what happened or where I can find out.

I am new to the Fediverse however I used Reddit a lot, no any more, and something I think after using a bunch of third party apps is that the official app excels in how comments display....
Please, before posting, we've seen a lot of these post saying X instance is down right now, or "is X instance down?". The answer is probably, but it's probably because Lemmy v0.19 dropped and it includes some downtime, upwards of an hour for all the migrations to finish....
I recently made a new account on lemmy.blahaj.zone, because I’ve been harassed and doxxed on my old account and I wanted a fresh start with a more lighthearted online identity that I could be more open about my gender identity on. I’d heard blahaj zone was good for trans people, so I made my account there. And yeah,...
I was wondering if there was a community where admins of different instances got together and chat in general about decisions for how they run their instances....
I feel like almost every single piece of software has some problematic dev that has racism, transphobia, or both. I recently read a post about the calc key devs and sighed *facepalm. It is honestly really annoying cause I want friends to use Fedi but than you can pull up a whole laundry list of problems with the devs and it's...
For the most part it's borderline child porn or stable diffusion spam. There should be an option to opt out of content from specific instances on account level.
A lot of us come from reddit, so we're naturally inclined to want a reddit-like platform. However, it occurred to me that the reddit format makes little sense for the fediverse....
I keep getting banned without reason
Available on Telegram - multistorecourses or Email - silverlakestore@yandex.com.
I like the concept of the iOS/Android app BeReal. Your app tells you randomly during the day that you have to take a combined picture (frond and back camera). So you don’t have much time to prepare. Then this pic is uploaded and friends who follow you can see it....
I can set it up . This idea popped into my head after i joined some good foss telegram channels and i personnely think matrix is not there yet also telegram does supports third party apps there are some privacy concerns but i don't think it matters to our use case and it is all speculation but matrix instance hoster could be...
I just got banned from linux@lemmy.ml, which seems to be the biggest Linux community out there....
I first joined Lemmy back during the big Reddit exodus of last year. I like many others wanted an alternative to Reddit, and I thought that this might've been the one. I made two accounts, one on lemmy.world and another on sh.itjust.works, in the June of last year that I used on and off for about 4 months....
