I always used old.reddit.com with RES on my desktop. I've started using old.lemmy.world now, and I love the familiarity, but I realize how much I miss RES. I wish there was something for the old.lemmy.world that offered the same enhancements.

So since the mass-exodus from Reddit we can see that the total amount of active users has gone down rather heavily: https://i.imgur.com/MeQok2F.png...

Presumably this is due to recent actions regarding adblockers over at Youtube....

I prefer good faith discussions please. I love the Fediverse and love what it can be long term. The problem is that parts of the culture want nothing to do with financial aspect. Many are opposed to ads, memberships, sponsorships etc...

I noticed that kbin has stalled in development recently and the ongoing problems with federation etc. made me use it even less for the past few weeks. I even spent more time on reddit than here....

I've been seeing a lot of users from alien.top commenting in various threads (mainly sports) lately. They only caught my attention because they are all flagged as bots and I typically manually block most bots (not all because there are some I like). For every one of them their entire post history consists of 1-2 comments or...

Man, I was all on board with this idea. Federated instances made so much sense to me. But it's tankies all the way down, and it's just not worth my time anymore. Hell, if the largest instance bans you seconds after you call out a tankie mod, where can you escape? Great idea, terrible execution. Everyone wants lemmy to grow,...

Hi, looking to move away from lemmy.world. not that my experience is not going well, it's just that in the last 2 months I've come to find what I want to see in the instance I'm part of....

By advantage I mean posts from those instances receiving more visibility than others on feeds that sort by score (active, hot, top)....

I never saw anybody complaining about Sync or its pricing. But I've been inundated with bad memes about how it's wrong to criticize Sync....

This new version introduced a system so that your instance stops sending out content to other instances that are supposedly dead / offline....

I wonder if the admins are using a k8s setup with CF? This way they have the CF protection and can spin up or down as needed when they get many requests. Thoughts anyone?

With several Lemmy instances using the .ml TLD I’ve seen people mention others being risky as well. Which should be avoided?

Those who blog in the fediverse, what do you use? Writefreely is a bit too minimalist for what I want to do. Is the best alternative for me to just use wordpress with the activitypub plugin?

Afaik, whenever an Activitypub instance has defederated from another it has always had to do with some combination of bad user behavior, poor moderation, and/or spam.
