is there a search engine for the fediverse?
Since big part of the web is drowning in AI junk, including Reddit, is there a good search engine to find answers in the fediverse?

I like the concept of the iOS/Android app BeReal. Your app tells you randomly during the day that you have to take a combined picture (frond and back camera). So you don’t have much time to prepare. Then this pic is uploaded and friends who follow you can see it....
just wondering
"They say you die twice. One time when you stop breathing and a second time, a bit later on, when somebody says your name for the last time."...
I've explored a few platforms within the Fediverse, but most of them seem to be inspired by and mimic existing mainstream social media platforms like Twitter, Reddit, and Facebook. While this familiarity can be comforting, I can't help but wonder if there are any truly innovative and original platforms out there that offer a...
By this I sort of mean like, in the case of Lemmy for example, something like a built-in Lemmyverse of sorts....
I keep getting banned without reason
!hackernews used to be a feed posting things from the orange site. It stopped 3 months ago. Does anyone know how to get it back in action, or is there another somewhere else I can subscribe to?

tl;dr I propose a Fedi Union consisting of the developers of Phanpy, Pixelfed, Peertube, Lemmy, and PieFed. That will work as a way to fund all of the services collectively (with the option to still go to their individual patreons and fund them seperately) and as a way for them to communicate to help all the services be more...
How is the size of Lemmy's userbase changing? Is it growing or shrinking? How diverse is it? What do the current trendlines look like as we approach a year since Rexxit?...
I dunno how many here have given it a try yet, or simply don't ever intend to but are nevertheless a little curious, so I'm putting down some notes here....
It not only have problems with CSEM (the real-life stuff), but there are now bots spamming it and Twitter made reporting it a chore....
Hello! Im Trying out peertube and have some unanswered questions....
If the spirit of the fediverse is to spread everything across small instances, then i think it would be really important to make communities, especially niche communities, easier to discover across instances. Since it is not planned to crawl federated instances community catalog, i think instance admins, or maybe even the lemmy...
I just got banned from linux@lemmy.ml, which seems to be the biggest Linux community out there....
Is there any interest in this idea?...
For the last two days, there seem to be dns/secure connection/insecure connection issues when attempting to access fedia.io, sometimes the home splash page comes up, most oven over the last 48 hours or so, browser shows could not connect error....
Please post one top-level comment per complaint about Lemmy. You can reply with ideas or links to existing GitHub issues that could address the complaints. This will help identify both common complaints and potential solutions....
Does anyone knows an opensource webradio server that uses activitypub? (I know funkwhale, but I find it more into music than into web radios). I’d like something like castopod but for radios....
Do you think that the fediverse has something to gain with the enshitfication of discord? Are there voice chat programs in the fediverse that can benefit from it?
Personally subscribed to 126, and it's steadily growing by 2-4 each week. But curious to how many you are subscribed to too. Feel free to share your favorite community too!...
Does every PeerTube instance store all other instances' content metadata (title, description, comments)? Would federating virtually with YouTube (through a YouTube frontend like Piped) give a too high ammount of data to store on other instances?
