Just had some Christian proselytizers at my door.

Microsoft Teams' latest update now means that if a meeting is cancelled or time changed, which happens a lot for us, I now have to acknowledge it in Outlook AND clear the red notification bubble in teams for the change I've already dealt with.

This is strictly worse behavior. How did this get approved? What's the use case here?

Everyone complaining about slack, know this: I despise you and your blessed life.

I predict that there are sufficient numbers of people who work better either in an office, or remotely, that companies that embrace one or the other will both thrive. This is a good thing! It's such a massive difference to people on either side of the divide, being able to choose is a big improvement for office worker types.

Right now in-office has way more opportunities, but a lot of that is inertia. As new remote-first companies mature, it’ll even out.

@uncanny_kate The company I work for allows in office, hybrid, and fully remote. It's great and everyone holds meetings via TEAMS anyways.

I increasingly think the key to enjoying things in this era is to enjoy them and utterly eschew the fandom. Modern fandoms are toxic and suck out all the fun from whatever thing you are enjoying. It sucks, because shared communities are great, but they're a huge trap.
