Hi, if you want to “save children”, instead of performative bullshit how about you ban guns, make paid parental leave mandatory, have single-payer healthcare for everyone, provide free daycare and kindergarten, ban corporal punishment at schools, make higher education free and make food free at schools.

This weekend is VCF Southwest.

And VCF can go fuck themselves for, again, inviting David Murray (he runs a large YouTube channel and he is a Sandy Hook-truther and gun fanatic) to speak.

And no, I'm not going to stop speaking out about this shit. Because enablers are just as bad as the perps.

(I will block you if you bothsides this shit in my replies.)

Apple just doesn't understand. Developers don't want a better way to port their games to Mac and all the Apple silliness. Players want a way to play the 10,000 windows game on a Mac. That will sell more Macs than anything else. You lost the gaming war. Make Proton for the Mac and sell a lot more Macs.

Me: "Eyewitness reports say Israel dressed as civilians and aid workers for the hostage rescue operation; which is a war crime under the Geneva convention article 37 (1) c. [and other sections]"

Them: "We need irrefutable proof! This is hear-say!"

Me: "Israel has a history of disguising soldiers as non-combatants, here's a video of some dressed up as doctors raiding a hospital with assault rifles earlier this year."

Them: "This makes no sense to me, therefore you must be wrong."

I’ll let you in on a secret: almost anything the tech industry comes up with is bullshit.

So a while ago eBay introduced AI-generated descriptions, which works exactly as well as you’d expect: not at all.

The main effect has been that descriptions on eBay from private sellers are now largely useless as they don’t bother to write anything themselves but let AI write empty paragraphs of absolute midness that don’t tell you anything.

Looking for the CD-ROM for the Veo Photo Traveler for Pocket PC, couldn’t find it online (but found a photo of the CD!)

These are drivers for a digital camera that’s attached to a Pocket PC CF card from 2002.

Anyone have this CD and can make an ISO or knows where to find it online?

If you hear any wistful, longing sighs coming from somewhere in Sydney’s inner-west, I was just stuck looking at Leica’s web site and ogling cameras I am unlikely to be able to afford except by act-of-goddess.

Do I need a Leica Q2 Monochrom? No. However…

I blame my metamour, who let me briefly use his Leica. They feel so -good-.

1980s: Personal computers! So you don't have to use a mainframe! Independence!

2000s: Web services! So you're dependent on a handful of mainframes! Annoying if one is offline, but you can still get stuff done.

2020s: AI! So you're dependent on a single mainframe that serves everyone world-wide! Too bad if it goes down.

"Last September, I received an offer from Sam Altman, who wanted to hire me to voice the current ChatGPT 4.0 system. He told me that he felt that by my voicing the system, I could bridge the gap between tech companies and creatives and help consumers to feel comfortable with the seismic shift concerning humans and Al. He said he felt that my voice would be comforting to people.
After much consideration and for personal reasons, I declined the offer.

To make something very clear after the dogpiling and death threats I got yesterday:

You have the right to disagree with and criticize my word choices or opinions.

You don’t have the right to make me listen to you or respond to you.

You absolutely, positively don’t have the right to stalk me after I withdraw consent of communication by blocking you, or to threaten my family or friends with violence or death. Fuck you if you do, or if you associate with those who do.

As a European I can assure you that is for many Europeans the most political thing they do all year.

It’s a proxy for many a historical rivalry and friendship between countries; and also always reflects current events.

The claim it’s “apolitical” is laughable.

The implosion they’re experiencing is their own fault.
