I don't think that I would ever trust this, considering the state of everything currently. But yeah, if it was secure and safe. I think it would be cool to have things like better storage capabilities, eyesight enhancements, auxiliary sensations, etc.

It probably wouldn't be cheap either though, which already puts the concept out of my reach.

I was under the impression that DM's on Mastodon (and Lemmy too) weren't ever stated as being secure and I think that they were both pretty transparent about this particular aspect.

I mean yeah, maybe it won't affect me directly, I like the instance I'm on and it's a pretty respectable one. However, indirectly, this is very relevant to any Fediverse user, regardless of the instance or platform they're using. Allowing abuses like this to happen without any pushback is a surefire way of turning this place into a shithole just like the rest of the internet. I appreciate the fact that, at least for now, it's different here.

Also, maybe this isn't my only homebase? Just saying.

What's the best US site/app to sell stuff?

Cleaning out my mom's house. I hate to trash things that may be useful to someone else and some of it's probably worth some $$. I've used Facebook marketplace a couple of times. I've heard of OfferUp and LetGo but haven't used them. Where will i get the best response and $? Should i just pile it all up and do an online estate...

Kind of depends on what you're selling specifically, but my usual avenues are ebay and craigslist. I've had mixed results, but sometimes it's effective.

At this point, are they just culling the herd or something? I mean, it's crass to phrase it that way sure, but how is it not some kind of a humanitarian violation? It's shameful that they can be allowed to do such a thing and not have any repercussions. There's supposed to be laws against this type of behavior.

I'm not sure exactly what you meant here, but I probably wouldn't tell most people who I am on here. That's not to say I wouldn't share in other places, it probably just depends on the platform really.

That is a really sleek ui, just wanted to say nice work. Is there any way to change the default image size on the card view? I find the compact view's images too small for my liking and the card view too big. A good medium size might be ideal.

It kind of goes both ways too, doesn't it? Like, the consumers aren't going to flock to the alternative platform without good content creators already there, and the content creators usually want to stay on whatever platform will get them the most views.
