    Is it "unjust" and "mean" to not let Pica lick (but not even eat) my mozzarella sicks?

    Facts:

    1. She has done this before
    2. She won't even eat them, just mouth them.

    She likes to rest on this bookshelf so she can look us in the eye when we exit the shower.

    She peers around the door frame. Two triangle ears and a little plaintiff face.
    My husband peers around the door and he and Pica are eye to eye in a staring contest.
    Pica won. She sits front paws neatly draped in front of her queen of the bookshelf.

    so. in January I was in a bad car accident. fractured spine, ruptured discs, cracked pelvis, broken arm. last 4 months have been v hard. tonight though I'm going back to my adult dance class for the first time. I wasn't sure I'd ever even walk properly again so this is a moment for me. a good one

    Does anybody have a good term to describe people you used to respect who turned out to be horrible? Like Steven Pinker, J.K. Rowling, Richard Dawkins. It's like a milkshake duck but more consequential and even more disappointing

    I just re-read Neuromancer for some reason and... I still don't really get it.

    Though I'm not certain it's making any particular statement. The hero mall-ninja. The wasp nest of big money. It's like a bunch of dream images each with their own resonance rattling around in what would be unfair to call 90s pastiche... because to be fair to Mr. Gibson, he invented what was later imitated.

    But, yeah. I still don't really get it.

    @futurebird I’ve read 3 or 4 Gibson novels — mostly when they were new, and none recently — but none have stuck with me in any way. Not the characters, plots, or situations. Zip. 🤷‍♂️
