Troubling things going on at Mastodon HQ. They've appointed board members Biz Stone (co-founder of Twitter, VC person) & Amir Ghavi (lawyer advising on blockchain & AI) 🤮

Fediverse needs good alternatives to Mastodon, IMHO best option would be GoToSocial, due to enter beta later this year.

However, it fails to address a root cause as I see it, which is the role of advertising agencies and their ability to design these psychologically effective campaigns and run them them for big bucks.

So my new bike has been a stunning success. I'm riding it a lot more than I expected. Has become primary mode of #transport ATM.

Biggest issue: bike security. As it was not cheap, I'm hesitant to lock it in public spaces for any length of time. We need more public secure bike storage lockers.

Now Working on motivating my partner to also get one.

I would definitely say #mastodon has been the biggest wake-up call for me in appreciating the existential threat of #climateChange and #overshoot and nudging me to begin incremental steps in changing my lifestyle PRN ( medical term indicating ‘as necessary).
