This "Allergy Guide" trend needs to DIE. Or it's going to make me die. Increasingly restaurants will NOT show an ingredients list, but instead a simplified chart made for babies that only list the "big five" allergens.

As someone with an anaphylactic reaction to sunflower oil and flax which are NOT big five this is useless to me. So I just can't know if your food will kill me or not. So I don't buy it.

The number of places where I can eat keeps shrinking.

(sesame isn't even on their guide)

@futurebird There's loads of 'fun' things relating to the Colorado river, starting with the California Water Wars (LA stealing all the water from the Owens valley) and continuing through the All-American Canal (we need to build a new canal that runs entirely on American soil so that there's no chance for Mexico to shut it off in case of conflict). @teddy @AustinB @meena @VirginiaHolloway @EverydayMoggie

Is there any around who can have a look at the account that passes around massive amounts of 'short primers' on 'easy sociology' to the @academicchatter group? Is it just AI-generated garbage or is it actually something useful?

@cyberlyra @academicchatter I've reported them to mastodon.social, and one could do the same at Facebook/Twitter if there was any chance of it having an impact...

As for getting them off the internet entirely, I think that might be a tricky one...
