@GottaLaff I hope Biden and his campaign repeat this (and more) on every single stump from now until November. The truth of Trump's criminality and unfitness for office is more devastating than any of the disinformation Trump's campaign can cook up about Biden, even if Putin and other autocrats decide to help him cheat again this time around.

Sheldon Whitehouse are requesting a meeting with Chief Justice John Roberts to discuss "the Supreme Court's worsening ethics crisis" and have sent a letter imploring Roberts to "take appropriate steps" to ensure Samuel recuses himself from 2020 election and Jan. 6 cases.

@GottaLaff Why are they so god*amned feckless?! It shouldn't have taken this long to get off their lazy, over-privileged, sclerotic a**es to lift a finger to look in to this obvious, long running corruption on the supreme court. Durbin is weak, and as long as he is "leading" the charge on this people should continue to expect very little to come of it. Would be glad to be proven wrong, though!

For those losing their heads over today's actions by Judge Cannon, take a deep breath. This was always going to happen. The writing has been on the wall since Judge Cannon was drawn for the case. Getting all worked up about it is only going to make you crazy and desperate. The way we will rid ourselves of this menace is at the polls in November.

@mastodonmigration @MaggyWells @Teri_Kanefield @JonChevreau this is an important debate that I've been engaging with people on here about too. I try not get bogged down in the semantics of words like anger vs rage. The reality is that there is clear corruption within our judicial system, that we as voters and citizens have a responsibility to reject in any peaceful way we can muster. Whether that means voting a certain way or just by venting, and yes, raging on public platforms like this against what we can all clearly see is wrong behavior by judges like Cannon and by politicians like Trump. We should continue to demand more from our public institutions because we pay their gd salaries as taxpayers, and they are currently not doing right by the people who sustain them to begin with. The corruption is so deeply entrenched at this point that most of us who are already adults will likely never see it fully unravel in our lifetimes, that's how badly democracy is currently broken imo.

@mastodonmigration @MaggyWells @Teri_Kanefield @JonChevreau I fear not many honest people run for office anymore because of how rigged and corrupt elections are in this country nowadays, mainly because this supreme court basically keeps finding ways to legalize political bribery via the practice known as "lobbying", super PACs, pick your poison. Not to mention all the violent threats that actual good public servants have to deal with while the FBI and other gov security agencies focus on "antifa" and students protesting the war in Gaza, or otherwise just nap on the taxpayer dime. That being said I will still vote in November. Will reelecting Biden help root out all that corruption, maybe? Will voting for Trump do similar? F no.

@GottaLaff Honestly getting to the point where I don't feel bad for the courts or anyone else powerful that he attacks. They've so badly abdicated their duties to hold him accountable that at this point I'm just going to assume they're OK with his behavior for some bizarre reason. Any of us would have been in prison long ago for this same behavior. This man is under 4 indictments and still moves freely around the country all the while the SEC allowed him to go to market with his obvious scam of a media company. In what world does someone who has 4 criminal cases and a proven history or financial fraud get to do that? Again, the powers that be seem fine with his behavior until they prove otherwise at this point. Am I wrong?

@GottaLaff Is this his way of saying he's sorry/not-sorry but that he's going to be interviewing Ronna next. Chuck seems like the kind of guy who endorsed this hiring by NBC in private, but now is helping them sanitize it in public by "attacking" the company. Being that Chuck is very high up on the food chain at NBC, what are the chances he said this without both Welker and his bosses knowing something like this was coming. Damage control or sincere? I guess time will tell.

McAfee asks Anna Cross what to expect from DA's witnesses after Willis is done.

Cross said they expect examination of witnesses DA plans to call will take 3-4 hrs. DA's witnesses will testify to matters impeaching Yeartie's testimony

Tentative gameplan for tomorrow:

  • Wrap up w/
  • Possible Merchant plans to call another witness
  • 4-5 hours of state witnesses

McAfee hopes to close evidence tomorrow but might have to bring everyone back next week for argument

@GottaLaff amazing how fast the courts can move when it's suddenly the DA that's on trial. Has this judge even set a trial date for the actual RICO defendants in this case?? Surprising/not-surprising.
