Today, like many other West Australian teachers, I'm not going to work this morning.

It's interesting that our industrial action is represented in the media as about pay. We're not striking over salary - we're striking because the system is broken.

My son has had no Phys Ed teacher all year. He's had a procession of relief teachers which, for a special needs child, is extremely distressing. He attends an inner city public school, but staffing shortages are statewide.

Speaking of special needs students, I'd like to look after my own without having to skip lunch to ensure their needs are met.

I'd like the Education Department to give me a personal device so I can do my job
(more efficiently). If I want a laptop, I have to lease one.

I'd like an acknowledgement of how teaching has recently become more difficult and demanding, especially during , when we kept schools open and tried to keep students safe.

I enforced the mask mandate far more often than a rank-and-file police officer. I've probably been threatened and assaulted more times than many police officers too. And the statewide mobile phone ban? Guess who enforces that every single day.

So many of my colleagues have left teaching: re-trained or resigned due to burnout and stress. Who suffers? The students.

It's not about the pay. We're tired, and we need support. We're underfunded and under-resourced. We need to improve conditions for students. We need to fix the system.

I actually made it TWICE as far, level wise, than my goal yesterday in Fallout 76!

I wanted to get to level 25 from level 22, but I actually made it to level 27 thanks to the awesome community popping open lunchboxes during the event! I had 100% XP bonus for about 2 whole hours!

Also dug about 125 treasures in hopes of getting some Power Armor plans. No luck so far unfortunately, but I have PLENTY leftover plans to sell and will only get more as time goes on, thanks to the generous Treasure Map donation from @thechrisd! Thanks again, friend!

I do have a question though for anyone willing to answer.

I own one of those big mansion prefabs and use that as one of my CAMPs and put the new vault doors on it and locked them with level 3. However, yesterday after one of the events, I came home to someone running through the building and I noticed he had a "Wanted: 5 Caps" above his head. I assume that means he was able to steal something.

I thought everything was player owned and I don't have much you can just "grab" except for corn and blueberries. Could it be that he was simply hungry and I'm freaking out for nothing? Or can he steal from my ammo box and stuff?😬😩 I'm so confused!

@BeAware @thechrisd He may not have stolen from you, but likely stole from someone. Other players can pick your locks - assuming they have the right lockpick skills - and become Wanted.

If you see a Wanted player you can kill them and claim the reward (5 caps!!) and killing a Wanted player is part of challenges, if you care about that.

@BeAware @thechrisd Also, they can't steal your things from your Stash, it's just say if you put a lock on any resource-producing stuff in your camp, like a Collectron or a mineral extractor. Your Ghoul Slayer's Tire Iron and plans for the single-action revolver ivory grip are safe 😉

Time to hop on some Fallout 76 for a bit and see if I can make it to level 25! Almost back to where I was on my private world in just about a week of playing on the public server!

It's SO fun doing the higher level events with random people and then doing the heart emoji and thumbs up before parting again to do our own thing.
