The verdict may not matter to Trump's base, but I do think there is a group of people it matters to who are being overlooked: the people who were already likely to vote for Biden.

A Trump acquittal would have sapped trust in legal systems and government further. It would fueled apathy. Hopelessness and apathy can reelect Trump.

A bunch of violets growing densely in a pot. This is a closeup of several of the open blooms with lots of green foliage. The flowers have pale white or yellow faces with deeper purple petals above. They keep deflating completely because from lack of water, because they are rootbound and need more soil.

    I’m sharing this because it is some of the most vile Mein Kampf level #Antisemitism I have seen on Mastodon. Isn’t this place supposed to be better than that?

    It is astounding to me how people who espouse Nazi beliefs can actually consider themselves anti-Nazi.

    This is indistinguishable from Hitler’s (yimakh shemo) perspective. If you lament that we “didn’t learn our lesson” from the Holocaust or if you, like this poster, consider the Holocaust to be some kind of preemptive justice against us, you are part of the “Hitler was right” crowd even as you delude yourself that you’re anti-Nazi. We see through you. All you’re missing is a swastika armband. #FediAntisemitism

    Really terrifying how in the aftermath of a mass stabbing in Australia, an online mob named a Jew as the perpetrator, and a mainstream news source spread this lie as fact. This was not a case of “mistaken identity,” it was a deliberate attempt to ruin and endanger the life of an innocent person and endanger Jews in general. #Antisemitism #Australia

    look at this little kinglet so intent on raiding this spider web!! i walked around the woods with them for a while and saw them picking at a bunch of different webs, both on the ground and up in trees.

    the kinglet is now mid leap at the web, beak is up and open, wings are extended forward and feet are down
    another shot of them midair leaping at the spider webs. wings are a blur as they flap furiously, the web is now partially stuck to their face and in their beak
    here they are slightly obscured by a little branch but are fully in the spider web and it is clearly stuck to the top of their head. their wings are stretched out backwards and their little orange feet are backlit from the sun
