I was over on iNaturalist and saw your blue isopod thing. Are those things really all over? I love them. I've never seen one, maybe I'm too far south.

@joewynne Yes, there are many of them by the wood raised bed frames and under the rocks. They’re so pretty! 💙

[Video with sound] A flock (or "raft") of Black-bellied Whistling Ducks relax in the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, Savannah, GA.

About two dozen ducks, all brown with broad white and black stripes across the lower side and with orange beaks and white circles around the eye sit in thick aquatic plants covering the water's surface. They randomly bob their heads down to get food or water, lift their head up to swallow, flap wings, stand and look in a specific direction, adjust position, and scratch themselves with their feet. In the background, the sounds of many birds can be heard but sounds created by these ducks, if any, is difficult to discern.

Unless you live in the U.S. Southeast, you would not expect to see the eerie "Little Sweet Betsy" or "Large Toadshade".

🔪 Another name of interest to @ElizabethLeeCo is "Bloody Butcher".

🌷 They are flowering right now, leaves, sepals and petals all in threes. From the unusual maroon flower without a stalk will come fruit and seed.

will be interested to know both of these are dispersed by ants.
