Co-op delivery company in the works?!

Great on Tony, doing the damn thing!

https://fitsmallbusiness.com/what-is-a-cooperative-co-op/

A cooperative, or co-op, is an organization owned and controlled by the people who use the products or services the business produces. Cooperatives differ from other forms of businesses because they operate more for the benefit of members, rather than to earn profits for investors.

Co-ops are organized to provide competition, improve bargaining power, reduce costs, expand new and existing market opportunities, improve product or service quality, and obtain unavailable products or services (products or services that profit-driven companies don’t offer because they see them as unprofitable).

Cooperatives present lots of opportunities for small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. In this post, I’ll go over how cooperatives work, why you should form one, and how you can start one for your business.

Lemmy Moderation needs WAY more transparency and accountability if the platform is to survive

As it stands right now, individual mods have way too much power to fuck up the platform by banning people for political reasons and the modlog is not even remotely adequate in providing a full story on such actions. This isn't too big of an issue now, but as certain instances have proven, it has the potential to become a...

Thanks for bringing this up.

I do not see this type of post too often, which should be important when trying to be better than other social media.

Some sites hide comment or post behind a warning, sucks but better than deleting.

Yes, modlog is really bare bones.

Awesome to see this discussion continue, while also seeing many different views on this topic!

Did I read it correctly, or missed something?

Cause, warm water event allowed pacific cod to move to where the crabs were located. Eating portion of crab population.

Warming of oceans, letting predators reach crabs that are in coolet areas of ocean.

Normally, there is a temperature barrier in the ocean that prevents species like Pacific cod from reaching the crabs’ extremely cold habitat. But during the heat wave, the Pacific cod were able to go to these warmer-than-usual waters and ate a portion of what was left of the crab population.

https://feddit.rocks/u/PipedLinkBot

I’m an open-source bot that comments Piped links when you post/comment a YouTube link.

You can find my source code at https://github.com/TeamPiped/lemmy-piped-link-bot I’m run by @kavin

Lemmy Piped Link Bot

How to make it join a community

Send the bot a message with communities in the format !community. You can have multiple communities in one message.

The bot will join the communities and reply with a message containing the communities it joined.

Where does it get the communities from?

The bot gets communities to reply to from the servers the Lemmy instance is federating with (has at least one user who is subscribed to that community). This currently is the feddit.rocks instance.

If more users use this instance, it will reply to more comments/posts.

Kentucky Autoworkers at Ford Are Preparing for a Strike ( jacobin.com )

In past negotiation cycles, the UAW has chosen one of the Big Three legacy automakers (Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis) as a strike target, picking the company the union believed would agree to the best deal in order to set a pattern for the remaining two....

Freedom of Press goes out the window? He is a journalist, so censoring and getting rid of 1st Amendment is not a good thing. Censorship does not stop at what you don't like, it keeps going until things you are for get censored.

I see that as an excuse to stop Freedom of the Press.

Below I link a small read on the subject, he does mention the topic you mention, hypocrisy of Julian.
