Before iOS 18 releases, I expect to have sold my iPad Pro, my Apple Watch, two HomePod Minis, an original HomePod, two Apple TVs, and potentially my M1 Max MacBook Pro. I'll be retaining my iPhone only because I don't love any of the alternatives. But I wouldn't really consider myself based in Apple's ecosystem anymore, with the exception of maybe iMessage and Photos. Big Linux got me.

One idea I've toyed with before that I think is really interesting is the idea of having a persistent inbox but an offline processor

So think of it like this:

You have a queue that sits online with a webserver in front. The queue has some logic (the kind you can configure with RabbitMQ) for deduping and routing, but is still just a queue.

That's the only persistently online piece.

Sans the filecoin BS, I have thought about IPFS for media in the fediverse as an option. The more people are looking at a thing the more present it is in the network but you are responsible for keeping the original pinned.
