Look, we wouldn’t even be having to worry quite as much about Samuel Alito and his wife and their white Christian Nationalist garbage had Donald Trump not had put 3 people on the SCOTUS. There could be a Democratic majority right now.

We’re not going to be able to impeach all of them out. Not with Republicans feeling no obligation or pressure to do it and not with the Senate majority Democrats have.

I don’t say this to shame people but to make sure we’ve all realized this for November.

“Blue”, , Runs 4 Miles to Get Help After Owner Crashes Truck in a Ravine

As Brandon Garrett lay stranded in a ravine in Oregon last week, his dog Blue was running through the densely wooded area, toward help.

Blue, a whippet, ran for nearly 4 miles w/glass in his snout & made it to a campsite where they had been before & where Garrett was supposed to be meeting his friend.

@GottaLaff The personal negativity in this thread is upsetting. Overall, the decline in EV sales is bad as people buy gas cars instead (or continue driving uneconomical cars because they can't afford a new one). Just because Musk is a total asshole, does not mean Teslas are bad cars. They are a decent value. It's scary to think that people might vandalize them or judge the owner for these weak reasons.

@GottaLaff @peachfront It’s not possible to have a discussion about complex topics on social media feeds. My original point was that Teslas are a decent car for many people. The hate dished out in response, due to one associated big mouthed jerk, is out of proportion. Not trying to sell anyone on the car, just saying it isn’t so black/white as people want to believe.

@GottaLaff @peachfront Focus on one car brand for all those bad things is ignoring a general problem across the board wtih those same things (rare earth metals, unionization, quality control, etc.). I certainly wish every single day that Elon Musk would take one of his own rockets into space. And I wish for better EVs for customers.

    One or more of my neighbors are putting out unshelled peanuts. The squirrels think it's great but I'm finding buried peanuts in my garden and in the planters right on the porch! The squirrels come back and dig them up, making a mess and ruining my flowers. If I post something on the FB group, I'll get bitched at 10-fold. Peanuts are bad for squirrels.

    Mastodon platform has been WAY more welcoming to meeting new people via random following than BlueSky. has been great for Twitter people who already had a following or are already known (widely or to you). But it seems TERRIBLE for encouraging people to follow new accounts. Thus, interaction rates are basically nil.
