Wait until you hear about how the colors white, brown, and the line of purples (purple/magenta/rose) work...

You are stupid

current , (edited )

I'm not even the guy you originally responded to and I have no stake in this, I am simply telling you that your statements make you sound stupid.

Marxism is a socialist~communist socioeconomic/political philsosophy, and being a Marxist means you follow the ideals of said ideology, making you a socialist and/or communist (depending on the usage of the word). It does not simply (have to) mean you think "yeah the things Marx says about class are accurate", it means you advocate for the solutions he describes for the industrialist plague.

Calling someone a "capitalist Marxist" is fucking gold lol, I mean depending on context/connotation of the word it isn't always technically impossible (if that's what you want to call class-conscious capitalists), but in this case it certainly is impossible since he's clearly meaning it in the sense of someone who believes in implementing Marx's socialism, not just someone who believes that what Marx says about politics/economy/power is accurate.

current , (edited )

Lol what, I'm not a Marxist dumbass. I'm not the guy you originally responded to, as I said in the first sentence. You look like a clown

Don't go crying just because you were too stupid to realize that words have multiple meanings, and that he was referring to Marxism as an ideology rather than Marxism as a theory. Hint – many throughout history have used interpretations of Marx's analysis and ideas of a democratic socioeconomic system to push for a Marxist implementation of socialist/communist society, hence Marxism as an ideology. It's extremely straightforward to derive for normal people, but not you apparently.

Is it suddenly my fault that all you liberals sound the same? I think not... your mind-numbing conformity is on you - not me.

It's your fault when you literally can't read the first sentence in the comment. It's also funny how you say that when you sound literally the exact same as everyone on red-fash reddit & lemmy instances and are literally insulting people by calling them "mind-numbingly conformist". Do you not see the hypocrisy???

Calling random, usually leftist/socialist/anarchist, Lemmy users "liberals" itself is cringe. As well as even using the word "conformist" in this context. You are quite literally just throwing random no-no words at people you don't like after making incorrect assumptions about their political ideologies. What exactly is a "liberal" to you?

Oh, are we backpedalling now? Wasn't this you just a short while ago? "Calling someone a “capitalist Marxist” is fucking gold" Doesn't seem like you're all that certain of your own case all of a sudden - I wonder why?

Holy shit you can't be serious, I literally say the phrase has multiple meanings IN THE NEXT CLAUSE OF THE SAME SENTENCE:

I mean depending on context/connotation of the word it isn't always technically impossible (if that's what you want to call class-conscious capitalists), but in this [context] it certainly is ...

At this point you're willingly ignoring what's right in front of you to be pretentious and try to "win".

Voting is based on electoral districts, which are areas mapped out every decade by state legislatures, and each district has electors which are given to a candidate who wins the vote in it.

The problem is that citizens of less populated states have more voting power due to the rules on how many electors a state gets.

Plus, conservatives often gerrymander – intentionally drawing the districts so ethnic minorities are divided, and most districts are designed to have a majority of Republican voters while all the areas with mostly Democratic voters are all put together into 1 or 2 districts. States like West Virginia also lower the amount of districts in the state as part of the strategy. The gerrymandering has lead to some pretty insane looking maps (North Carolina, Texas, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Ohio)

Also electors may not actually vote for the candidate that wins the election in their district, which is technically illegal but also not really illegal and has happened quite a few times.

I can +1 this, a looong time ago I tried uninstalling Microsoft Edge and it made the system go ballistic. Every time I clicked a link, instead of going to my default browser (Chrome then) it would just open a completely broken Edge window with no functionality. Any time I tried to change settings, it'd do the same thing. Anything to do with touching the internet got fucked. I spent hours trying to reinstall Edge, contacting a Microsoft support person who was useless, before I realized that the official site only provides the Windows download for Edge if you set your user agent with... any system other than Windows. Huh.

Coal (anything) doesn’t "contain" energy. We can transform some things, and some transformations produce energy in some form or another.

Akstchually energy is a property of matter, or matter is a property of energy, whatever 🤓 but your point still stands

william taft died in a bathtub due to his terrible health, a month after resigning from the supreme court.

his health had been mentally and physically declining for about a decade before that point, but despite that he insisted on staying as a justice on the supreme court the entire time because he viewed hoover as too progressive and was paranoid he'd be replaced by a dirty commie. so he stayed a supreme court justice and caused a lot of problems by having increasingly worse memory and having a worse and worse ability to actually attend his job.

he was also the president before ww1 started, he lost re-election because teddy roosevelt (the person who helped get him elected in the first place) no longer viewed him as a suitable president and ran against him as a 3rd party candidate.

also, taft's son was the co-sponsor of the taft-hartley act of 1947, which took away many worker's rights and crippled unions in the united states, criminalizing things like solidarity strikes (what's happening in sweden with tesla now), wildcat strikes (striking without union leader approval), jurisdictional strikes, and most forms of picketing. ;)

the internet would never lie to me

What is a gender neutral replacement for man, guys, buddy, etc?

So I've realized that in conversations I'll use traditional terms for men as general terms for all genders, both singularly and for groups. I always mean it well, but I've been thinking that it's not as inclusive to women/trans people....

i'd play totk on grapefruit, or kiyomi, or tangor, or even rangpur. perhaps kampei, or jabara, or iyokan. maybe lumia or pompia, or daidai, or chinotto, or calamansi. koji and reikou work too. suenkat/sunki, sudachi, kabosu, oroblanco, dangyuja, amanatsu... the possibilities are endless!

but maybe citri are too obvious, maybe we should think out of the box... like melons! honeydew sounds like a good emulator name (maybe a bit overused though), and so does argos, gaya or hami too! kajari, mirza, and dosakai as well...

download Ryujinx, get keys by downloading them from a site (like from prodkeys.net) and you should get files "prod.keys" and "title.keys", place them in "./Ryujinx/system/". then you can go on a site like www.nxbrew.com, download nsp or xci files of the game (and a potential updates and whatever dlc), and throw them in folders of your choice (i personally have a "roms" folder with all my game files for different consoles, including a "switch" folder, with folders called "games" and subfolders "updates", "dlc", "mods", "cheats").

then, get on ryujinx, select the folder with your games as your game directory, and your games should be visible. you can right click on the game on the list and add updates or dlc, you can go to the mod directory ryujinx made for the game and add a bunch of folders with the mod data inside of it (for example, for ACNH i might have a folder called "360_camera" and inside of it will be a folder called "romfs"/"romFs" which will have a bunch of files/folders for the mod in it) and then select the mods to enable. for cheats you just need a folder named "cheats" in the mod directory and then you can put cheats for the game in plain text in the folder.

you can also mess with the graphics settings, use an input device (probably an xbox/playstation/switch controller), change datetime (although i find it doesn't allow you to make the date out of sync with your device's date, so you may want to go to your computer settings and manually change it if you want to do that), etc.

redditors even on piracy subs treat actually pirating things like it's voldemort, so when i wanted to emulate switch games it was a pain in the ass for me to find out what i needed to do, i hope this helps you not run into those issues lol.

like 99% of animes? yea

i mean it's embarassing to even recommend a majority of animes, because of how absurdly they portray women and how excessive/creepy they are with the fan service. it's hard to even watch when the characters are just completely objectified and the creators go out of their way to overly sexualize them. it's just completely normalized in the anime community and it's disappointing to say the least – it definitely doesn't help the image of people who say they like anime, it's why even a lot of mega weebs won't be caught saying they like anime as a genre. just the concept and extent of waifu culture in anime communities is icky...

as for non-anime, i think shows which aren't like that are a lot more common, like the first animated shows i can think of are things like king of the hill, avatar, boondocks, regular show, south park, etc. they generally aren't as bad with objectifying women (but there are definitely some that do it really badly, don't get me wrong)

I'd like to ask how immigration is a problem to you? Immigration means a larger workforce and more value in the economy. If immigrants are "taking jobs" and making people unemployed as many people like to say, that isn't a problem with immigration, that's a problem with the way our economy has always been set up. Being out of a job and unemployed shouldn't destroy your life, take away your healthcare and education, etc., and in civilized countries they don't have nearly as much of an issue with that. So is it something else? Is it being against cultural diversity?

Undocumented immigrants also can't vote in state or federal elections. VERY FEW municipalities allow undocumented immigrant voting, so few in fact (17 to be exact, if you include ones that only allow them to vote in school board elections, like SF, Oakland, and Chicago) that it's absolutely a non-issue.

BTW many EU countries allow non-EU citizens to vote (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Lithuania).

I'm also curious as to which "half" that Trump accomplished that you're referring to. Spending was extremely high under Trump. He was KNOWN for making national debt skyrocket, increasing government spending a ton in order to tax the rich less, fucking up foreign relations including trading which set up a terrible future for prices. And all of this without even facing a pandemic. The economy complex and the answer to its problems isn't just "stop printing money lol".

Trump also, completely contrary to what he campaigned on, does all he can to increase illegal immigration. He did absolutely nothing to stop or reduce it, he just used it as something to convince people to vote for him. It's been decreasing since Obama and Trump didn't contribute at all. Meanwhile, Trump has been actively working against introducing legislation on immigration because he doesn't want Biden to get good press, he has influenced Republicans directly to kill multiple bills that would contribute to controlling immigration.

That only leaves voting, which Trump heavily worked against... He definitely did really want to make more states ID voters, but not because of some goal to make voting more fair or streamlined – he actually put much of his effort making sure voting WASN'T fair or easy, and tried making voting much more of a pain in the ass, especially for poorer and marginalized people, to lower voter turnout – it was to encroach on peoples' right to vote by making it have an extremely high personal cost. Naturally people who are far more well off and have a lot of time, people who are privileged, which are generally people who vote Republican, will be the ones who can afford to put the time and effort and money in.

TIL those who go through menopause or have certain medical conditions aren't women

current , (edited )

If you say "why did you say woman twice" in response to "woman and people who menstruate" you're saying that being a woman means you menstruate AND vice versa. That's implying a strict equality between women and those who menstruate, saying that you can't have either without the other.

"Logically" he's saying woman ≡ menstruating person, while you're confusing his comment for woman ⊇ menstruating person. In reality their conditions have no bearing on each other, so neither is right anyways.
