Today in Labor History July 14, 1789: Parisians stormed the Bastille, marking the beginning of the French Revolution. The Bastille was a fortress, armory and political prison, and was a symbol of tyranny, feudal authority and the "divine" rights of kings. The Marquis de Sade had been imprisoned there and was transferred out only 10 days before the storming. The French Revolution succeeded in overthrowing the monarchy, replacing it with a bourgeois republic. However, it sparked optimism among working people throughout the world and inspired other revolutions, like the Haitian Revolution, in 1791.

    🔥Hot take🔥: I'm fully embracing the generative AI revolution!

    Controversial, I know. But ever since these tools hit the scene, I've been using them non-stop to fuel my work – from finding leads to crafting engaging social media posts.

    Let's be real: How else am I supposed to come up with fresh content for clients who sell things like air conditioners or military-grade tablets? When there's zero news or info to work with, producing two posts a week can be a serious struggle.

    Enter the AI cavalry: ChatGPT, Bing Copilot, Gemini – they've all become my trusty sidekicks.

    Now I can actually keep up with the workload, even as my agency keeps piling on new clients (without a raise, naturally) and refuses to hire more staff.

    Bottom line: AI is making my job a whole lot easier. Sorry, not sorry. 🤷‍♂️

    In a country with a functioning democratic system and a somewhat healthy political culture, anyone uttering such dangerous nonsense would be shunned and ostracized, a party elevating them would not be considered a viable option by anyone but an extremist fringe.

    America, however, evidently has neither.
