Just ordered the new Infosec.exchange DB server 😅

Increasing to 512GB of RAM on Hetzner’s dell 48 core Epyc with a 10g network 🫠

Going to try using zfs instread of ext4 this time since it’s what all the cool kids seem to be doing with Postgres these days.

@jerry My gut tells me xfs is the fs of choice for performance with database workloads. (Amended later -> )

@jerry I had someone try the car wrap scam on me a year or so ago. I played them for quite a while. They sent me cashiers checks to “my apartment” (Wrigley Field) and then I said send it to “my work” (FBI field office in Chicago).

Then I said I got it but had to drive to Windsor Canada to deposit it. They texted me throughout my “drive” across the border.

Lots of fun.

They are like little sun sprites, motes of joy and determination made animate. I decorated their outworld like a magical desert. Here you see their annex nest (not their main home just an outpost) and the geode and branch they explore. I feed them on the jade dish, they neatly pile trash in the upper right corner for me to pick up. (Dorymyrmex bureni, the light brown cone ant)

(Bonus #pica who wonders when I’ll stop gushing about ants)
