Question for law scholars:

The #ICC can issue for signatories countries an arrest warrant on #Netanyahu because it has jurisdiction over international crimes committed in #Palestine since 2012

BUT

If #Israel doesn't recognise the #ICC, its territory isn't included in the jurisdiction, and the crimes of Hamas where carried out there, then how can the #ICC issue a legally binding arrest warrant on Hamas leaders?

I'm not a law scholar, but the time constraint of the ICC jurisdiction investigation in Palestine starts from 13 June 2014, not 2012 [1][2].

A related effect:

If the 5 warrants are accepted, then states party to the #RomeStatute will have to arrest any of the five who are on the states' territory.

So the #StateOfPalestine security services [3] will be obliged to arrest #YahaSinwar , #MohammedDeif or #IsmailHaniyeh if they are on Palestinian territory; and transfer them to the ICC's custody in The Hague.

This story by @dangaristo reports shocking details of scientific misconduct by Ranga Dias, who made headlines last year for his now-retracted reports of room-temperature . It’s an extreme case, but it exposes weaknesses in that badly need more attention.

Interesting to see who got involved in this. One of the physicists who published an analysis showing that the Dias data were most likely fabricated [1] is Jorge E Hirsch [2]. Hirsch helped to prevent nuclear weapons being launched in 2006 [2]. He's also the person who proposed the h-index [2].
