Blue Lights Season 2 was fantastic too, for much the same reasons as the first season.

Brilliant characters, strong story, fantastic acting.

Season 2 focused more on the loyalist side of the divide. Some of the scenes and stories were just so powerful - especially the subplots exploring the actions of Special Branch during the war. Deeply moving.

Really enjoyed this show, one of the best things I've watched this year. Hope it returns for a third season next year.

@picard I like the way it was so nuanced in that Lee is portrayed as a decent person, despite the fact that he's a drug dealing paramilitary. This is often the way such people are regarded in the community because they control the anti social behaviour of others.

@picard It's very true to life. When young lads were getting their kneecaps shot off, some people were happy that a message was being sent to the ones who were partaking in anti social behaviour. Absolutely brutal 😔

Keep your eyes on this story. Shadowy “online” Axos Bank and its biggest billionaire shareholder, Don Hankey, have together extended more than $500 million in financing for Trump’s benefit. They helped him out on loans and now a huge civil judgment. What will they get in return?

Today in Labor History March 2, 1974: Salvador Puig Antich was executed by garrote in Barcelona, Spain. He was a militant anarchist and Catalan independence fighter who fought against the Spanish state with the terrorist group Iberian Liberation Movement in the early 1970s. He was convicted of bank robbery and killing a police officer. His arrest and execution became a cause célèbre in Francoist Spain for Catalan autonomists, pro-independence supporters, and anarchists. He was also the last person executed by the fascist Franco regime. His execution inspired new artistic works by Catalan artists Joan Miró and Antoni Tàpies.
