Noone noticed because noone reads the articles.

We really need an autodr bot that justs pastes the text verbatim like:

This is the best copy I could come up with:

The original article contains 568 words, the copy also contains 568 words. Saved 0%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!

More so, if it is easily sandboxed, it should just be a webapp. Which discord already is.
Just use the website.

Browsers are already easily themed, have plenty of tools to change deeper functionality, and are way more sandboxed than any other app packaging ecosystem.

Redjard ,

My favorite dinosaur is Plesiosaurus.

What are you gonna do about it? >:)

Redjard ,

Consensus is probably not.

  • We don't have transition forms
  • We probably have young Torosaurs (which are not Triceratops)
  • Holes in the skull would have to form atypically late for ceratopsidae
  • some other stuff I forgot

Where do you get your 2 meter bananas? Asking for a me who wants to eat banana

Redjard OP ,

Actually should I mark it nfsw?

Redjard OP ,

Well you can have it blurred and unburnt this once at least

Redjard ,

I had the same on revanced, thought they found a new way to fight adblock.
Turns out if you clear the cache occasionally it goes away. The youtube app is a piece of trash.

I would switch, but I only use it for music and I haven't seen another frontend support mixes, which I rely on

Redjard ,

Could you correct it for us mere mortals without in-depth aurora knowledge?

Redjard ,

Electricians will deny this is true but then just make up a new word for it (inductance)

Redjard ,

If it's a eukariotic algea, does it also have cloroplasts?

Redjard ,

I think plastid is the generic term for that organelle family and chloroplasts are plastids specialized for photosynthesis.
So they probably don't want to state the plastids have a function they havent confirmed or something like that

Redjard ,

you can physically wire A into C, it's the same protocol. This won't be broken like other adapters because neither device even knows about it

$9,000 per metric ton. So 9$ per kg.
Copper is $8.3 per kg.

Thank you metric for not being a pain in the ass

Israel no longer considered liberal democracy; global index cites judicial coup ( www.haaretz.com )

V-Dem index cites government attacks on judiciary and 'substantive decline' in freedom from torture as reason Israel is now considered an 'electoral democracy' – in which elections are held but civil liberties and equality before the law are not safeguarded...

USA, Portugal and Austria are ranked between 0.7 and 0.8.
Israel and Greece are between 0.5 and 0.6.

Android phone saving metadata for screenshots ( i.ibb.co )

I always remove this data from my screenshots before sharing, but is there any way to prevent this from happening in the first place? I've searched and searched, but all I can find is information about how to remove the data after the fact, which I already know how to do, but it would sure be nice if it never got added in the...

Redjard ,

On lineageOS 20 it records the exact android build string as the Software for me, so "Android lineage_pdx215-userdebug 13 TQ3A.230901.001 b30079afa2". Which is probably enough to uniquely identify me, and you if you have a less common phone or are on an older or uncommon version.

Needless to say I am pissed.

Redjard ,

I would think a good way is to find an ordering of nodes. If you can order the nodes of any graph in a repeatable way depending only on the graphs shape, then the ordered form of V1 and V2 should be identical, and ordering E1 and E2 by their nodes would also yield identical lists, if and only if the graphs are isomorphic.

An easy start would be ordering by number of connections, but this of course is in no way sufficient.

Redjard ,

In boost I have a list of all my uploaded pictures, where I can delete them.

Redjard ,

Yes, the deletion would have to be federated, there is no way to guarantee anything at that point. But as I understand OP this is about acting quickly, on an upload that isn't even part of a post yet.

If I doxx myself on any service, someone can take a screenshot, it could be archived. But If I delete it before anyone sees it, there is a good chance it will never get out, if the primary platform properly removes it.

Redjard ,

Boost does, under settings, general, uploaded images. Here is mine:
boost uploaded images list

I can delete them there (or forfeit the ability to do so)

Redjard ,

Yeah. It uses google ad-mob, or if you purchase it needs the google play store app to verify that and deactivate ad-mob.
A way to purchase it without going through gplay would fix this, and probably means it could be published on fdroid in a premium-only version at least. I've been meaning to ask @rmayayo about the feasibility of that for a while now. It's bothered me for years now, but I simply couldn't find an alternative so far (neither back on reddit in the days).

Redjard ,

With federation it's kinda like complaining archive.org doesn't have a good way to purge page snapshots in case you post something on your website you regret later. Or search engine caches. Or the local scammers replicating your page with curl for a phishing scam.

Redjard ,

Why are you flagged as a bot?

Redjard ,

Why set it as a dev?

Redjard ,

Just like any other user through a history containing high-enough-quality interactions.
It is a flag set manually, so a malicious/undercover bot would not have it set. It's more odd than suspicious.

I did look into your comments and saw no bot-like ones at all, which is why I asked. Is it like a stylistic decision or are you procrastinating actually developing the bot?

Redjard ,

np glad to help good bot, keep fixing dat 4 me

Redjard ,

There is a cool easy-to-show fact that you can never make something hotter than the light source my focusing its light.
Since otherwise you could take heat and divide it into a hotter and colder region, decreasing entropy without using energy.

Redjard ,

The easy to show part was the second sentence of my comment.

This is really useful physics trivia, because the basic truth is easy to show from a simple law, but the detailed explanations go quite in-depth.

With lenses, you trade bewteen angular accuracy and light density.

For a challenge, try it with LEDs. Where do you find the source "temperature", you can get from focusing an LEDs light?

Redjard ,

Thats definitely hugely relevant, yes.

Redjard ,

It outright prevents any legislation mandating backdoors, on a level harder to change than even a constitution.

Simplest path is probably to use the old simple mobile tools recorder app on fdroid, which won't be getting any updates. Fossify will likely release their recorder app very shortly, which will essentially be the next update for the smt recorder app.
It is already under active development, they just haven't gotten the first release yet.

Edit:
Another interesting one is DroidRec. It is usually used and seen as a screen recorder, but it has three simple toggles for screen video, device audio, and microphone. If you turn off screen and device audio, it becomes a very nice voice recorder.

Redjard , (edited )

Which of the two?
DroidRec works for me. I have quality on normal, codec on default, and record stereo. Selecting just mic or device audio and mic records to an m4a file.

E: smt simple voice recorder v5.12.3 works fine on default settings too for me

Redjard ,

Absolutely nothing of relevance happened closer to the start of the industrial revolution than to when we figured out the greenhouse effect today

They are using repeatable builds, so the fdroid version is signed by fossify. You can update between github, izzy, and fdroid, and in the future likely also google play, if they release there.

I dug up the meta discussion on it. Mentioned there is the issue to add reproducible builds to the phone app, which is marked complete since that was released on github and izzy last week.

Further for me the app is marked installed on both entries in fdroid, which means the fdroid and izzy repos should serve bit by bit identical apks, from my understanding (the installed mark being based off of the apk hash).

In light of the current drama, could you maybe elaborate on your run in, and repeat what the deleted reply by stamets was?

Redjard ,

Might be faster if all drives are connected in parallel

Redjard ,

I have a dream
that one day
we will live in a household, where the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty

Redjard ,

Is it in any way better than keep? I don't really see an advantage in handing my data to microsoft rather than google

Redjard ,

I am not OP.

It may fit the idea of degoogling in law, but not spirit. In pretty much any of the reasons you might want to degoogle, microsoft is no better than it here. You are falling for the same carrot again, to feel the same stick of monetization whenever microsoft decides they have grown that product enough. All the while feeding the same data into the same profile of you held by the same information brokers to mess you up now or later in all the ways information that should never have been public may.
I'm sure the extra features are nice though

Evernote seems nice, for basic notes I can also recommend nextcloud, which you might have already and where the fact notes are saved as files also grants you more freedom to use them with random tools or scripts, if you so whish
