I guess solarpunk is more about communism than I thought. I still agree with the ecological aspects, hell I drive an older prius, but I wont label myself as part of the solarpunk group. God I hate tankies infesting everything.

This doesnt make sense. Climate activists are against farming, ranching, fishing, and feeding people in general.

Are there any online or in-person communities dedicated to minimizing the influence advertising has on its members? Do you know any strategies to minimize this effect on you?

Is there a lemmy community, for example, where people discuss shopping strategies which minimize the risk of the purchase decision being influenced by Brand Image or Flashy Packaging? Or similar topics....

Maybe hide the big instances behind a few clicks? Like you could sort/filter for them, but you'd have to navigate a bit? The average user isn't going to bother. Like have a default sort that hides the big ones, and a default filter that filters out the top five or whatever.

Because its undercutting American wages and benefits. Because it creates an underclass of people. Because it hurts the American worker. You know why wages are so low and unions cant do jack shit?

Because we let these companies import cheap labor, who dont speak the language, with zero consequences. And they face zero difficulties because we just let these illegals walk right in.

Have you ever tried to form a union with people who dont speak the same language? Who are grateful just to be here, and have zero legal recourse? Its near impossible.

Diversity is not strength, its robbery.

TLDR: Army recruitment goals are 65,000 recruits for the year. They had a shortfall of 10,000 recruits, 15% short. Meanwhile, white people specifically aren't signing up, only 44% of new recruits are white. For context, the US is 68% white.

Of course there's more than just racism, such as the obesity epidemic making many potential recruits not fit for service, the mental health epidemic doing the same, general apathy, etc etc. But the racism issue not to be overlooked, and it's one of the few things that the army could try to target. The army can't fix the obesity epidemic after all.

Trans people have the same rights as everyone else, but I understand that the perception is different. And for the record, illegal immigrants are villians.

As for infirmed, yeah, Ive been caught out a couple times too, it happens. No single person can know everything.
