I'd like to know more about the grill cooking process. I have recently got into outdoor cooking and love my gas grill (I know, sacrilege but I like the convenience over charcoal). I got a pellet grill smoker a while back and that's been a game changer too but I've been debating getting a pizza oven as well but now room is becoming a problem 😅

How do do pizza on your grill? Do you have a pizza stone or something?

It's how agile development is meant to work. The faster you get feedback on a feature, the faster you can improve on it while it's still green in your head (and the faster you can drop it and put your efforts elsewhere if it turns out to be a dud).

A fully written feature sat there doing nothing is offering you no value.

Sure, but Microsoft has since contributed a lot to Linux and other open source projects. That's not me saying "oh they've changed!", that's me saying they've made it significantly harder on themselves to bring legal action against because they've publicly endorsed and supported the project for so long.

Whatever legal arguments they tried in the past that failed are even weaker now.

Hello! I recently listened to a podcast that talked about how storing media files in .av1 format is very efficient and storage-friendly. I've been storing my files in .mkv format, but now I'm considering using Handbrake or a similar service to convert all my video files to .av1 if it's more compressed than .mkv. So;...

Another recommendation for tdarr, set it up in January and let it transcode away, going to h265 for all my media - saved me over 40TB of space so far and I haven't noticed a massive drop In quality or had any playback issues.

For me the first thing that comes to mind is Tales from Earthsea. I don't think it's excellent or anything and has plenty of problems but people act like it killed their dog. While it has its problems that have been covered extensively, I think it has a beautiful atmosphere and art....

It's not exactly a fair comparison, the tweaks in the bottom panel aren't necessary for most users to do, yet a new user to Linux will need to get over a learning curve to do fairly basic tasks.

My litmus test for when Linux will be "ready" is can you do everything you need to do without using the terminal. So far I've yet to see a distribution that has achieved this.

The closest thing I've seen is SteamOS.

There's no stigma with the terminal, the terminal isn't bad, I love the terminal.

However, it's not grandma friendly. It never will be. You need to think less about your preferences and more about a truly novice user. Most people don't want to tinker with their machines, they just want it to work.
