@GottaLaff I'm still reeling from the mass shooting a few towns over from me, at a splash pad some friends of ours are often at. Too many guns around, it feels like nowhere is safe to go 😔

15 June 1885 | A German Jew, Max Reinhaus, was born in Stadtlohn. In 1938 he fled to The Netherlands.

He was deported to Auschwitz from Westerbork in February 1944. He was murdered in a gas chamber after the selection with his wife Clara.

A heartbreaking moment that was saved by an SS photographer at Auschwitz II-Birkenau during the deportations of Hungarian Jews. It was taken 80 years ago, most likely in late May 1944. A little child finds a dandelion in the grass and is handing it or showing it to an older boy.

16 April 1917 | Charlotte Salomon was born. The German Jewish artist from Berlin was murdered in Auschwitz on 10 October 1943. She was 5 months pregnant.

She created an autobiographical series "Life? or Theater?: A Song-play" made of 769 paintings.

In July 1944 she was deported to Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber. She was 5 months old.
