I'm sure you don't need me to tell you this, but having hobbies and likes that aren't traditionally feminine doesn't make you any less a woman. Every cis woman I know has at least a couple supposedly "masculine" hobbies. If you're partner is pressuring you to fit into a sexist stereotype, it sounds like they aren't actually very supportive of you.

Don't get into business with a narcissist. If you don't figure out they're a narcissist until after the business has started, bail or kick em out.

I feel like Australia is fairly apathetic to us. Probably because we generally dislike Americans and see the massive anti-trans movement as theirs. That's not to say we're accepting (I get plenty of disgusted looks from the cis and I'm in a progressive part of town), but it's more of a passive dislike, attempts to build a large, motivated movement have been unsuccessful.

There have been some failed attempts to start a culture war and politicise us, but our policies have remained largely sensible and accepting. Most of the country operates on an informed consent model, and youths are able to access puberty blockers through either the consent of their parents or the family court (in cases where the parents are bigots). To change my legal gender, all I needed was a note signed by my GP.

It's strange, because I feel like most of the population dislikes us (or at least condescends to us, thinking we're being taken advantage of by "big pharma"), however we've still let actual experts and advocates design policies.

Cool party, stand for a lot of good things, including sex workers. I think they're called "reason" now

Likewise, an open source project can totally die if they refuse to engage with the needs of the users. The lack of moderation and content management tools have been a longstanding criticism of Lemmy, and instances will migrate to alternatives that address these concerns. It is a genuine legal liability for instance operators if they are unable to sufficiently delete CSAM/illegal content or comply with EU regulations.

My partner (jokingly) refers to themselves as a "recovering alpha male" because their testosterone levels were also super high

When I was looking a couple years ago Ubuntu Touch was by far the most developed and stable. Primarily because Canonical poured millions of dollars into its development before giving it up and dropping it, but the community has gone a long way to make it what it is today.

Probably not a popular choice on this community though.

It's a convenient excuse that allows them to reject any social progress without having to examine or defend any of their own views. It doesn't matter that the ideas of the "leftist revolution" may in fact be correct and completely justifiable, because introducing it through a "revolution" is inherently bad.

I don't think it is productive or helpful to be overly cynical. An ICJ ruling may be too late or insufficient to stop a war, but officially committing a genocide would be headline news, and will erode public and political support for the occupation of Palestine.

Obviously it isn't a foregone conclusion. Even if they come back in favor of Israel, that doesn't mean people, especially Palestinians, won't remember what happened.

EmilyIsTrans ,

I don't particularly appreciate your insinuation that because I said Palestine won't forget Israel's actions that I somehow support the cycle of violence in the region.

Please take the aggression down a notch, I was not the one who claimed you support Israel and I did not intend to make such an implication.
