Nobody uses third-party messaging apps here; it’s not just those two old people. There’s just no need.
MMS has horrible quality videos and can’t be added and removed from a group chat and breaks functionality for everyone else in the chat.

The tiered pay the guy is complaining about and no benefits is because of the temp workers. Mercedes had to switch to labor companies because the State labor office was horribly inadequate and didn’t send MB qualified workers.
Onin staffing is getting paid per hour for every employee then paying the employee after they take out a cut.

I stopped using google completely several years ago. I deleted my accounts and information.
I created a burner for YouTube since there’s no other option but otherwise I refuse any google software (and I use iOS).

The MVNOs throttle and deprioritise in high traffic times too.

Also, throttling at 30GB is a lot
Different than at 300GB which is what I went from on Visible to Verizon (visible is Verizon’s prepaid service, and it still worked like an MVNO by slowing down during the day and rush hour while Verizon clicked along streaming 4K)

It seems to get derided a lot here, but none of your data is harvested and tied to you or sold. It’s aggregated and anonymised if it’s sent off device, and I stopped using Proton drive when you could finally encrypt iCloud storage.
I even use their email as default now since it’s not reading my messages and selling my info like outlook started doing.

Apple really doesn’t advertise. The data never leaves apple. Everyone else sells your information.
