This account has a website full of tips and step-by-step guides about how to use Mastodon and the rest of the Fediverse:

➡️ https://fedi.tips <-------- Click here to open the website

The entire site is written in ordinary non-technical language, aimed at a general audience. There's a section at the top with quick links to the most essential stuff, and a complete list of guides below that.

If you can't find the answers you want on the site, ask me and I'll try to help directly.

@FediTips
Thanks for the tips!

I followed the guide on downloading the Mastodon web-app, but the install option only appears if I force Desktop mode.

And now from the web-app there does not seem to be a way to toggle back to Mobile mode.

Is this working as intended?

Is there a way to filter your explore/posts feed by language?

I follow a few users who post in English and German and I get a lot of German language posts in my non-home feed.

Just to be clear these are not posts or boosts by these users themselves.

But I assume the explore/posts feed now mix in posts in German because of these follows?

Any ideas @FediTips?

I’m dreaming of a 9th grade geometry book. (age 14) many textbooks include lessons and examples— but all I want are the bare essentials:
definitions, axioms, theorems, problem sets

I’m dreaming of a spartan little book light enough to tuck in a large handbag or back pocket. But not so alien and obtuse as to be useless. When you start the year it looks like gibberish, by the end every page is an old friend (or enemy.)

Do I need to make this from scratch?
Anyone teach with such a book?

@futurebird probably a tangent, but I've been hooked on the Euclidea app for years.

Geometry puzzles from first principles.
