Last night, after finishing Robert Rodriguez' “Rebel Without a Crew" tv series (each contestant is given $7k and 14 days to make a feature film) I watched two of the final products.

With a few grand and a few weeks both those films were already more fun and/or creatively interesting than a lot of the new flicks I've watched lately.

They're like $4 AUD on iTunes so I've been working through them. Another one left to go...

Fuck I love low-budget indie films.

just called ai "the mediocrity machine" in a meeting and a tech bro is twitching so hard he can't even plug this into the mediocrity machine so it can tell him how to respond

For a while I've been playing a very fun game of Scum & Villainy with a group. I'm shocked we got as far as we did but the GM (who was writing the sessions before we play them) has decided to take a break as he's burned out. Still wants to GM, but has decided to run a module instead.

So, for the first time in a VERY long while - I'm playing D&D.

Appropriately enough, we're doing Ravenloft.

Reckon it'll be fun. I'm playing a Paladin who I mentally imagine as Christopher Lee in a '70s low budget film.

@vampiress is it a module in the Ravenloft setting, or is it the Curse of Strahd adventure module thingy?

Cacotopos ,
@Cacotopos@aus.social avatar

@vampiress if it's the CoS module as written just don't take it as a reflection of people who play 5e, cos it gets pretty ... hm.

shout out to all of us who learned to turn book pages stealthily and silently during reading-out-loud times because it was taking too long and not being able to read ahead was driving us crazy

@ElleGray followed by being asked to read the next page and not knowing where the class is?

    @vampiress Guarantee. They are amazing at looking at the road outside their offices and determining through some weird prognostication method that you aren't home for delivery.

    @vampiress it’s infuriating. Their business model is literally the cost gap between ‘we drive this van to a post office’ and ‘we drive this van to every address’.

    @vampiress I saw this headline this morning too, and thought ‘was this written by a regional town? 🤔’
