🔴 #Denmark PM Mette Frederiksen is said to have been left shocked and suffering whiplash after being struck by a man while walking in the centre of #Copenhagen
The assault took place in a square in the city's old town when a man walked up to the politician and hit her
The attacker was swiftly arrested, but there is no word yet on a motive
Ursula #vonderLeyen called it a "despicable act, which goes against everything we believe in and fight for in #Europe"
Despite #ICC arrest warrant requests against them, European Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi "honoured to meet" Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin #Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav #Gallant.
@faab64
All the same breed of far right pricks. Várhelyi is close to Orban (as anyone Hungary sends to the EU) and recently blocked 13M€ which were supposed for the aid of a hospital in East-Jerusalem.
And because this is not enough yet #VonDerLeyen and her "conservatives" intend to increase bonds with #Meloni and her fascist movement.

, we honour Robert Schuman's vision of a united, peaceful, and thriving Europe.
We celebrate the people who built our Union.
And those who keep building it every day.
This day belongs to all Europeans—the dreamers and the builders.
Together, we are stronger.
“Europe is mortal. It can die,” French President Emmanuel Macron warned in a Paris speech, urging the European Union to become more self-sufficient in a rapidly changing world. “The era when the EU bought its energy and fertilizer from Russia, outsourced its production to China and depended on the US for its security — that era is over,” he said. Macron struck a much more urgent and alarmist tone than a more optimistic 2017 speech he gave about similar issues facing the continent. The BBC has more about his warnings and how they connect to upcoming elections.
@zachvat Actually it's Ursula #vonderLeyen (Christian conservatives, Germany). #Macron just seems to act as an unofficial spokesperson for her and her EU Commission.
@LALegault
Macron of France now seems to be an unofficial spokesperson for the EU Commission 🫠
It's them, who are pushing Europe towards militarisation and authoritarianism. With French businessman/Commissioner Thierry Breton (in charge of the Digital Services Act & the Commission’s defence industry portfolio) being the right hand of President von der Leyen.
Great (German) text on the current situation btw 👇
