I know I ought to stop attempting macro photography with my phone—mobile cameras these days are incredible, but they still have their limitations—but I saw this little huntress move as I ran by, and I felt compelled to try capturing some images of her 🕷️💛
Just adding to my collection of trillium portraits here ☺️
Second photo is a bonus for the science hippies, not very artful composition. I just wanted to document how these patches of trillium along the Mima Falls Trail had so many purple-pink phenotypes. In this bonus photo, more than 75% of the flowers are the purple-pink variety. (I'm counting those that are purple-pink on white as purple-pink) Interesting stuff!
So a while back, I thought I’d killed the grocery store trillium and bought a few new bulbs online. They were very slow to break ground and I was worried I’d waited too long.
What do you know! The original trillium isn’t dead! And it doubled! I’m so relieved, it’s very silly.
