I’m thinking about doing a deeper dive into solo gaming. For anyone out there who plays a solo , which ones would you suggest I check out? Is there anything in particular that you look for in a ?

@jesseross Much depends on HOW you want to play. Some are made for adapting group games to solo play. (e.g. Mythic) Some are group games with solo variant rules. (e.g. Ironsworn) Some are designed for solo play from the ground up. (e.g. Glide) Some are pretty radical revisions of the idea of role-play gaming. (e.g. Quill)

Hello!

I just released a solo tabletop-RPG on itch, come check it!

The RPG is about looking to the past and saying good bye.
It take place just before your best friend's funeral.
Don't forget your phone, you may need some old messages to play this game.

I put a lot of myself in this one, more than I thought. I hope it will resonate with some of you.

@rubens_fournier just released his first solo TTRPG… using some of my art from art packs!

I'm so glad to see these arts in use! 🤍 Please take a look at this game. It sounds like a short game, deep in its thematic.

❗ Content warnings: grief, funerals

From The Solo Game Master's Guide.

"If you create characters but never use them in a session, that is still experiencing the RPG world. That is part of playing."

This reminds me of all the time I spend generating Traveler characters, the stories that played out in my head as I generated their careers.

Now I want to find a tabletop RPG that focuses on character creation as a story.

A little experiment:

If you want to discuss solo TTRPG play, follow the hashtag.

Use the hashtag to:
:d4: Ask advice about solo play.
:d6: Talk about how you play.
:d8: Point out interesting game/setting features.
:d10: Relay short anecdotes about your gaming.

When you see the hashtag, regard it as a request for discussion.

The hashtag is a shared resource, so don't abuse it. The point is to build conversation about play, so please don't use it for news, promotion, or long threads.
