TIL that Mastodon has a setting for lists that hides that list's posts from your Home feed.
If you're following some particularly noisy users you can add them to a list and then hide them from your Home feed and just check the list when you run out of other stuff to read!
I spotted a post from @FediTips about using lists. I gave it a shot a long while ago, but thought about it again. Is there any way on #MonaApp to prevent any followed account on a list from being displayed on Home, or is that purely a web-interface setting with #Mastodon like I suspect it might be? I haven’t had a chance to dig into the web settings yet. Figured I’d openly ask the air. #help#question#lists
Is your main timeline getting a bit too busy? Does it feel like you're following too many people? You can split your main timeline into smaller mini-timelines using Mastodon's Lists feature:
Make use of #Lists, and when you follow someone make a habit of adding them to a list right then.
It's quick and easy:
Set up at least three or four lists. You can number them to arrange the list display order.
After you hit FOLLOW, click the three vertical dots and choose "Add or Remove from lists". This will bring up your lists and you can click to add the follow to one or more lists.
They will make your #Fediverse life so much better.
