I spent 11 hours on this 5162 today. Still doesn't POST but at least it's improved cosmetically? It's all buttoned back up for now. I need to do some more research/studying before I open it back up to continue troubleshooting.
That manky IBM 5162 wasn't bad at all inside. No signs of water intrusion and the motherboard looks clean except for these tiny spots of corrosion. I've cleaned them up but the board still appears dead.
I don't remember what is in this package. It arrived many months ago and I'm finally opening it today. I'm 99% certain it's something #VintageComputing related.

ARGH! SMP/E is.... :waves hands: By the biggest and darkest of black holes, if apt or any other system updater was as ... insane as the system update software on an IBM Z/os system... nobody would use Linux.
I... argh! I've got to retry this test tomorrow. My head hurts.
Yep, I'm having too much fun with this z/OS stuff. Now I'm doing Zowe CLI commands instead of using the VSCode Zowe interface. It's just... fun! IDK, call me weird.
