My last memory lane posts seem to have resonated well so here’s another. #CallOfCthulhu is up there as one of the games that I’m not very keen on. This comes from a couple of games (both at conventions with well respected Keepers) where the aim has been to scare the player rather than the characters. This put me off for quite a while but after a good game with someone who was running Cthulhu as their first ever GMing attempt I’m tempted to go back to it. #GamesWorkshop#RPG#TTRPG
Following on from yesterday’s post. Here are the second two RPGs I bought (I originally had the box set of Judge Dredd but I’ve long since lost that so this hardback is a replacement). #JudgeDredd#WFRP#GamesWorkshop#RPG#TTRPG
A few online diversions took me back to the Kickstarter page for Kevin Rolfe's Golden Heroes / Squadron UK supplement, Legacy. It was going to include "The Lancelot Caper," Marcus L. Rowland's announced but never published Games Workshop adventure, which I was pretty excited to hear.
Unfortunately, Legacy funded ten years ago and Rolfe never delivered the project. No updates in five years and mostly promises prior to that. He did post a few PDFs largely cobbled together from previously published material, but no Lancelot Caper. Backers appear to have given up and accepted that they'll see neither product nor refunds.
Funny what a bummer it feels, even now, especially considering that I didn't lose anything on the Kickstarter. Golden Heroes is still a pretty solid superhero RPG with a unique tone, and it would have been great to have had a collection of scenarios and other titbits to round it out even thirty years later.
@BigJackBrass Funnily enough, my copy of Golden Heroes (with Supervisor Kit and the two modules) will be going up on eBay in Sunday. Need to clear some space and the super hero RPGs are it (some Marvel Super Heroes box sets going up too).
@FortiterGames Marvel usually does well on the secondhand market. I'm hanging on to GH for now, but I don't know if I'll run it again. Too many alternatives with lighter rules or more logical options.
Started at 54 minutes. Got as low as 7 minutes. Now it’s steadily increasing. Gah! I just want to browse… it’s now 27 minutes. #GamesWorkshop#Warhammer#WarHamFam#Queue
@garyjesionowski Yeah me too. So many Saturdays I am assembling minis and want to check out the 360 to make sure I am assembling it right but end up in queue,. Today I just wanted to see if they restocked anything. They redid the whole website a couple months ago, couldn't they have set it up so only preorders are queued?
