Many #Trump allies had been secretly rooting for an #acquittal. The talking points wrote themselves: It would have been yet more evidence that the #UnitedStates#justice system was rigged in favor of #Bidens & against Trumps. Tues’s #guilty#verdict was inconvenient to that narrative.
Even more valuable would have been the #fundraising potential.
A person w/knowledge of the #Trump camp’s #fundraising plans …said there had been discussions about how much an #acquittal would help Trump, potentially raising tens of millions of additional dollars as they planned to cite it as more evidence the #justice system was rigged. After Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts, his campaign raised record sums online, & some of his advisers recognized that an acquittal of #Biden’s son had the potential to raise Trump far more cash than a #conviction.

Got an alert that the pathology lab has received the half a thyroid I traded for bragging rights and unlimited ice cream, so it'll be another week or two before I find out if I have cancer or just need ultrasounds for the next few years. Fun shit. My neck and throat hurts.

The #donor form shows that the first $3,300 of each donation will be directed to #Trump for President primary election acct; the next $3,300 will go to his general election acct; the next $5k will go to #SaveAmerica & the next $413k is directed to the #RNC.
The remaining dollars up to $814,600 will be directed in various amounts to the local #Republican Party in 39 states. (if evenly that’s <$21k per state)
…Previously, #Trump had structured his joint #fundraising account so that each time a donor contributed a dollar to the campaign, 10 cents was directed to #SaveAmerica & 90 cents was allocated to the Trump presidential campaign.
