Can You Hear Her Now by Debra Martz https://debra-martz.pixels.com/featured/can-you-hear-her-now-debra-martz.html
I was walking along a trail with dense trees & brush on both sides when I started to hear the calls of birds; very loud birds! If not for the sounds, I might not have spotted this pair of Chachalacas. I must say, he looks like he's leaning away from her loud vocals!

Happy to spot this pair of Lesser Whistling-Ducks (Dendrocygna javanica) at the pond near Tanglin Trust School, Singapore, on 7 June 2024. They were bathing, and I had to take numerous shots before I finally got this one of both of them posing nicely.
The Lesser Whistling-Duck is an uncommon resident bird.
A Scaly-breasted Munia (Lonchura punctulata) spotted at the Railway Corridor near Buona Vista, Singapore, on 7 June 2024. It was feeding on grass seeds, not distracted by cyclists and runners rushing past it.
A Lineated Barbet (Psilopogon lineatus) spotted at Bukit Gombak Park, Singapore, on 25 May 2024. It flew in, took a look around and then went off, so I only had several seconds to get these shots.
The Lineated Barbet is an introduced, resident bird.
A juvenile Asian Glossy Starling (Aplonis panayensis) spotted at Bukit Gombak Park, Singapore, on 7 Oct 2023. This one is just becoming an adult, judging from the initial dark blue band found on the feathers on its back.

This male Malabar Pied Hornbill (Anthracoceros coronatus) has a huge casque (beak extension). When vying for females, they do mid-air battle with them. So why do the females have them? You can tell the females apart because they have white skin around their eyes whereas the males are all black.

What a treat to see this pair while on a bird walk at Estero Llano Grande State Park in Weslaco, Texas. I was not the only birder who was thrilled, excited, and wowed by this pair as they flew in and out of this Ball Moss. Tiny birds, measuring in at only 4-1/2".
Hope to be as lucky on my next trip to this park.
Roseate Spoonbill In Flight On A Beautiful Day by Debra Martz
The title says it all. What a gorgeous day to be out bird watching in south Texas in the early part of last March. I was at Lamar Point to see if any Whooping Cranes were still in the area. Several did fly over a little later so it was a perfect day of birding.
