First part of 'Tolerance Is Extinction' definitely shows that they are going all in for the season finale. Really not holding back with the commentary, which is fitting, given how tackling with allegory has always been a core aspect of the X-Men's history, and X-Men '97 continues to pull off those parallels impressively well.
It was also pretty good to see Nightcrawler get more spotlight in a way that feels so authentic to the comics. And, even if it's arguably not the most important thing that happened, it's still impressive to see things like Cyclops' licence plates reading "SL1M" and all the other little details they keep including. All in all, yet another great episode.
To round out my #Xmen97 cast, I want to do some #fancasting for one of the most important members of the #Xmen, Storm. To say this is a coveted role is an understatement, but my pick carries the strength needed to take on the Goddess herself. My pick is Jodie Turner-Smith because after her performance in 'Queen and Slim' she's earned the right to run away with this one. She's has so much presence and would be dead on for Ororo. 😎
Because of @vintagerpg, I'm checking out old Different Worlds magazines tonight while watching Elite 8 games with my father-in-law. Remember the days when there were multiple print #TTRPG magazines?
One of the more interesting things I found while looking through those Different Worlds issues last night were the issues devoted to Marvel and DC superheroes using rulesets that pre-date officially licensed games like Marvel Super Heroes and DC Heroes. I'm talking games like Villains & Vigilantes and Champion. I wonder how that licensing worked (if it was officially supported at all)
@Tim_Eagon I'd say that depends on your general knowledge of #xmen lore. If you're completely new, then you might be lost. If you're passingly familiar with the comics and can accept deviations (mutations? 😂) from the comics, you'll be good.
