Been looking at Faster Than Light: Nomad. It’s got a CC-BY SRD, and looks like a solid system.
Kind of thinking of a space soldier game. Basically life in the trenches of a 40K guardsmen, or starship troopers. Human with a laser rifle and basic body armor entrenched in a hopeless war on an alien planet. WWI in space.
But the trick is not to make it too depressing, while not making it heroic as well.
I know Stellagama already has a “Synthoids” expansion in the works that deals with androids and uplifts. I’ll be curious to see if other 3rd parties add to the system.
They were a little stiff compared to the looseness of a totally free hand drawing. Perhaps warping the model a bit.
Or not trying to trace the rendered image (i.e., print out the image, prop it up as an artist's model, then manually draw on a blank piece of paper while glancing at the model).
@nyrath@thisnorthernboy Yeah, don't trace, just mark the relevant spots if you need that, and let the hand flow. Tracing always make your brain just follow the line instead of focusing on the shape.
My biggest question about the #Babylon5 universe is do professional sports test for psychic abilities since you know you might be able to tell what route the opposing receiver is gonna run.
@Ailantd I like the one you posted the most, because it feels like a bee's colors and that feels like it gives the thing some extra character. The other ones are okay but they feel like just color schemes.
I have just discovered that the Baltimore Rock Opera Society exists, its current show is A Computer That Loves: And Why Not To Build One, "a original universe-spanning sci-fi rock opera epic with a big (and heavy) heart."
Quick plug for my song!
Skylark Duquesne, representing Atlantis, The Last Planet [ATLA], presents "Postmarked The Stars", a love letter from outer space to my dear wife, Elizabeth. It's really cute singer-songwriter stuff, with a healthy nerdiness and a reference to the classic #scifi novel by Andre Norton. Let me know if you like it!
