Now watching Zelda Williams' & Diablo Cody's Lisa Frankenstein on #Peacock.
I really liked Kathryn Newton in both Supernatural and Freaky, plus I love Jennifer's Body, so I'm excited to see this one.
@MamboGator@ElizabethLeeCo@horror S1 is really important to get a feel for the characters, I think. And there is some spooky stuff that lays the groundwork for future things, so I'd say start with S1 knowing it gets better from there.

Oh, that sounds good. I deliberately ignored the news that there was to be a prequel because I was afraid that it would be just as interchangeable as at least the critics said about the Exorcist sequel. But maybe it will be something after all?
#NowWatching Spielberg's made-for-TV movie, Something Evil (1972), starring Darrin McGavin. The transfer is terrible but I'm wildly curious because the description sounds folk horror-y.
@ElizabethLeeCo@horror I have a long term love of folklore. Angela Carter's book - and this adaptation, really worked for me back when I watched it.
The only film to have had a surreal/magical realist approach that's come close is the Estonian movie November:
Moving on... #NowWatching American Gothic (1987) on #Tubi. An 80's slasher I somehow haven't seen even though I remember the VHS cover from Blockbuster. It stars the late, great Yvonne De Carlo (Lily Munster) as an unhinged backwoods matriarch.
@ElizabethLeeCo@horror aww really? I thought it was pretty creepy, and there were a few scenes that made me cringe almost as much as when I saw Hereditary
@ElizabethLeeCo@horror Glad soemone else felt that way about this film. Some bits were a little creepy but it felt like a kids attempt at doing elevated horror.
@stina_marie@horror hah! I hear yah. One of my best friends who also loves horror doesn't like The Terrifier either. Just proof at how expansive the genre is
@ElizabethLeeCo@horror - I remember the book started with someone disemboweled and trying to stay upright while holding in their guts. Entertainingly nasty stuff that gave me a life-long (and completely rational) fear of disembowelment.

Okay, I wasn't expecting that, but I'm delighted. And good for Neve that she finally seems to be appreciated and paid what she deserves. She IS Scream. Everyone else is just ghost faces.
🎥 I'm either watching POOR THINGS on #Hulu, or SATANIC HISPANICS on #Shudder tonight. Not sure which one will win out as I want to see them both very badly.
🎨 But before that, ART! I have a painting & illustration for two different projects I NEED to complete, and an illustration for MEEEE.
