I'm watching a 1989 Skinemax vampire movie I thought was the height of sexiness and romance in high school and, holy shit, the love interest has the most ridiculous mullet. Like, straight-up Nic Cage Con Air hair but w/ teased bangs. I keep getting the giggles 😆

Note: Previously, even though I'm not a huge horror fan, I described The VVitch as a perfect film—that is, there was literally nothing that I felt could have been improved on. My friend—who is a huge horror fan—agreed. 🙂
@ElizabethLeeCo@horror@horrorfilm Oh nice. IFC is pretty good about commissioning audio description for their disk releases, so hoping I'll finally be able to watch at least a few of these.
Wow, thanks for reminding me about Leslie Vernon! It's been ages since I've seen it, but I was so excited back then. I urgently need to watch it again. In the meantime, I'm really looking forward to ‘In a Violent Nature!
#NowWatching Demon (2015) on #Kanopy. It's a Polish dybbuk movie that I've had on my watchlist forever. No one's entered anything on Does the Dog Die for this one so I'll be filling that out too 🤓
I thought it was interesting but it had a very abrupt ending. I also didn't realize the director killed himself during the film festival debut because, jfc, that is DARK 😬 #horror@horror@horrorfilm
#NowWatching Book of Blood (2009) on #Tubi. Not to be confused w/ Books of Blood (2020) from #Hulu, even though they're both related to Clive Barker's wraparound story from his Books of Blood. I know I've seen this but I can't remember if I liked it 🤷
Does the Dog Die does not have the right categories for Clive Barker movies. Like, where am I supposed to put "face pealed off"? Under throat trauma? 😶 #horror#CliveBarker@horror@horrorfilm
Ohhh snap...paging @stina_marie. This is such an underrated found footage film*. It's available to stream for free in the US on Hoopla & Tubi under the name "Final Prayer".
#NowWatching episode one of @neilhimself's Dead Boy Detectives on #Netflix. That part of Sandman was super creepy to me in high school so I'm really excited 🤓
Btw, @neilhimself's Dead Boy Detectives on #Netflix is sublime. I binged four episodes last night. It doesn't get quite as dark as the origin comic but it definitely leans into horror in the third episode (murder house!). Plus it's funny. Definitely check it out if you like fantasy/horror and/or paranormal stuff.
#NowWatching The Canadian goth vampire film, Suck (2009), on #Tubi which features cameos by Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Henry Rollins, the guitarist from Rush & more. Plus Malcom McDowell 👀🦇
#NowWatching Jack Be Nimble (1993), a kiwi film w/ the late Alexis Arquette, on #Tubi. I know I watched it decades ago but I can't remember if I liked it. Also filling out a Does the Dog Die on this one.
@stina_marie@horror sooo...this is really weird. I saw the BloodyDisgusting article saying that it had surprise-dropped Tuesday & even saw it on the new releases on Netflix.
But now it's gone from the site and the BD article is gone. I wonder if it was supposed to be on the international Netflix instead or maybe at a later date and it got added by mistake?
I did think it was kind of weird that two seasons would be on Paramount at the same time as Netflix.
@horror This reminds me that I've always wondered why the actors playing the parents in most American TV shows & made-for-TV movies before the mid-nineties were old enough that they would've had to conceive in their fifties. Was it because the actors playing the teens were usually in their thirties? 🤔
