Sad news: The Living Computer Museum in Seattle won't reopen and the collection, including the historic PDP-10, pivotal to the origins of and , is set to be auctioned. One of their PDP-10, the second to be named AI, still has MIT's "Deactivated Property" sticker prominently displayed on the front panel. What will become of these technological treasures? It's a moment for reflection on how we preserve our digital heritage. https://www.geekwire.com/2024/seattles-living-computers-museum-logs-off-for-good-as-paul-allen-estate-will-auction-vintage-items/

I never did any proper , mostly because I'm not so confidence with many things around my life. I'm an average Internet user that happen to live in . I'm a supporter of @fsf since 2009 and become an associate member since 2020 (on and off). I love computers but I don't work in tech. I don't know any programming except for some bash snippets and some configs that I copied from many tutorials.

To make it short: I'm just another unimportant boring person.

Just a random screenshot of my current workspace.

I am really enjoying the leftwm window manager. Very simple to set up and very fast and stable. I have been using tiling window managers starting with ion3, Awesome, DWM, and I3. Leftwm removes the need to use a programming language in order to configure it. All I have really needed is a small bashscript in order to start up the programs needed.

O.M.G.Squeee! I just stumbled across this amazing video by Howard Abrams about "Crafting Ironsworn in Emacs" which discusses how he's integrated all the moves, tables, and mechanics of Ironsworn into Emacs, allowing him to easily play solo Ironsworn games.

THEN he went and genericised the system to play other games.

Regardless of how you feel about you should check this out. Every solo playable game should have a tool this awesome.

Listen, I'm gonna be doing some videos about these topics:

Actually for the past two years I have been going through a personal Linux renaissance and I wish to share my voyage beyond Fediverse.

I believe most of my followers are into / but if you are interested in my :linux: voyage I would appreciate A LOT if you could get me some motivational YT subs today.

Thanks in advance. :catjam:
Impressions are welcome.

#Introduction

I am what I would consider a pretty boring dad to five kiddos, from Lawrence KS. I'm most definitely #introverted, and in a past life I'd much rather be #reading a good book or playing some #JRPG on whatever system is current.

These days, I can generally be found at home, doing the #WorkFromHome thing as an application #SystemAdministrator dealing with lots of #OracleCloud fun (...not).

Downtime has me learning #clojure, #typescript, #angular, #emacs and basically anything shiny that catches my eye.

I've been #keto for the last few years, doing maintenance mode for most of that time, with no plans to change any time soon. It's a lifestyle for me, not a diet.

I've got a handful of accounts on the #fediverse, one of which is my single user #mastodon instance. I'm trying different things out to see which I prefer most.
