May want to look into insignia too, its a xbox live replacement, its still a WIP and doesn't support some games, including halo 2 unfortunately, but the games it does support work very well

XLink Kai?
I remember it from late 2000s, I don't know much about it now.

This game was amazing, and it still is. Use the PC version "Blue Burst" to play on a private server

echo64 , in Rare 'SegaSonic' Arcade Game Has Been Dumped And Preserved

This kind of looks like forum drama rather than something real. Someone on twitter called out the OP saying that their English version of the game looks exactly like their patch for the Japanese version of the game - this is when Op was looking for a few thousand dollars for it.

then op turns around and says it's been mysteriously preserved by secret people and he's signed an NDA about it? the whole thing is just reaking of drama.

SquirtleHermit , in I beat Sonic the Hedgehog on Sonic Origins Plus without getting any Chaos Emeralds. Does that count too?

Did you have fun? That's all that ever counts

This is genuinely one of the most useful Analogue Pocket criticisms. Before buying AP you should watch this and either Digital Foundry or My Life In Gaming reviews. I still bought one and don't regret it but you should know what you're getting yourself into.

Don't ever make that noise in my ear again, mate.

Regarding your joystick issue, have you considered replacing the joystick module, or taking it to an electronics repair shop? Joystick modules are generally pretty cheap individually.

Sabin10 , in Best distro for linux gaming?

I'm going to go against what others are saying and advise against the raspberry pi. If you are serious about ps2, ps3 and gamecube, the pi will struggle with more games than it runs well. Especially for ps3, you'll want at least a 4c/8t CPU, preferably no more than 5 years old, anything less will struggle.

xyzzy , in Love picking up new Gameboy games in 2023

Thanks for clueing me in to incube8! I subscribed to their newsletter and signed up for release announcements for a few of the upcoming games currently in development.

Have you had a chance to play this game? If so, what are your thoughts?

dinckelman , in N3DS - how much of a problem is this crack?

I would absolutely avoid that, because the hinge is already really fragile as it is, and by the looks of it, it is ready to snap off at any moment as is. Replacing the shell is a way bigger pain in the ass, than what it's worth

MajorHavoc , in Good games to talk over?

Sounds fun! Here's my favorite relatively chill multiplayer games:

  • ToeJam and Earl - the ultimate chill vibes game, punctuated with moments of panic, of course.
  • Gunstar Heroes - marvel at the peak of 16 bit graphics, blow up badguy robots, find cool gun combinations, repeat
  • Cyborg Justice - incredibly steep learning curve, but a chill repetitive gameplay loop with lots of interesting mechanics to discover
  • Battletoads vs Double Dragon - Probably the best brawler, with lots of interesting twists in gameplay mechanics. But starting with 3 lives is unfair - use the Konami code for a chance to see the whole game.

All the Castlevania games. Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow are the best ones, and they're both very light on dialogue.

Any mascot platformer is also usually light on dialogue but pretty fun. Sonic, Mario, etc. are good to play.

Fighting games are a fun watch and you can actually play with your friend. Tekken, Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat, etc. are a fun time.

makyo , in [Zelda II]I did it!

One of my proudest moments as a child was beating this game. Incidentally, fighting the end boss was the first time my parents caught me swearing.
